The Cyclops is a player controlled submarine that is the biggest vehicle available in the game (177 feet long, 39 feet wide and 45 feet tall) and is capable of diving to depths of 500 meters or 1,700 meters when it has been fully upgraded. It is constructed using the Mobile Vehicle Bay and costs 5 plasteel ingot, 5 enameled glass, and 1 advanced wiring kit. The total unrefined material cost is 2 gold, 1 silver, 2 jeweled disk piece, 16 quartz, 5 stalker teeth, 50 titanium, and 5 lithium. The Cyclops can be uitlised as a mobile base having the capacity to be outfitted with furnishings and other amenities using the Habitat Builder.
The Cyclops moves very slowly compared to the Seamoth, this makes it vulnerable to the Leviathan-class enemies which are attracted to it by the noise the vessel makes. The different speeds the Cyclops travels at affects the amount of noise it makes, the faster your speed, the louder you are, which means the further creatures can hear you. It is possible to engage silent running made at any speed to reduce the amount of noise you make by 50% but doing so will consume your power at a faster rate.
Regardless of the speed you travel at you will need to use your cameras at all times to be aware any large predators in your surroundings. If you are attacked by a creature you can launch a creature decoy to divert it away allowing you to escape, or use the shield generator to make the Cyclops temporarily invulnerable. The downside to using the shield generator is that it uses a significant amount of power so this option should only be used when needed. You may want to consider the sonar upgrade as this device will enable you to pinpoint exactly where the creatures are you can't see.
