Stronghold: The Best Castle SimAdded 23 Apr 2004, ID #4509
If you ask someone what the best strategy game is, you will probably get some all to well known answer like WarCraft 3, or Age of Empires.

Through many years of gaming, I have realized that the best games are not often the most advertised.

In this case for example, this game holds all major qualities that a RTS (Real Time Strategy) must have. It includes a massive amount of soldiers, many buildable, and destructible, objects and a variety of economy based missions.

The game even includes missions that are solely based on an invasion or building an empire.

Online gaming has hit the top of everyone’s list. This game allows large maps with many armies killing off each other.

Although there are only around 50 people at a time online, it is quite easy to start a major game with friends or even people half way around the world.

Probably the most unique function of Stronghold is the reality in its gameplay.

All troops, structures, heroes and economy are based on the history we know about the medieval ages today.

They even include things like attacking your enemy with boiling oil.

Although this game never made it as big as WC3, it did win some major awards such as Editor's Choice from Computer Gaming Monthly, and it made enough to come out with a new expansion pack.

So if you enjoy RTS games and are bored of your big name brands, try Stronghold for a change.

I guarantee you'll love it!
