Signalis Cheats, Tips Strategy

Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include how you can save ammunition by pushing enemies away and why you should use Focussed Aiming when you need to use your pistol.

Always Save

Signalis will not allow you to save whenever you want. The only way that you can retain your progress in this game is to go to one of the few save rooms scattered around each level that provide safe haven and enable you to save your game. You should always go to one of these rooms whenever you clear an important objective or difficult puzzle, and it is recommended you return there whenever you have picked up a decent amount of resources or ammo, or before you need to engage in a combat with a formidable foe. If you do get killed during the game you will be bounced back to your last save, you have four save files.

Don't Waste Ammo

In Signalis you will be given a handgun and some ammunition which you can use to dispatch the enemies that attack you. The amount of ammo you get is limited which means it is best conserved for dangerous situations. There will be instances though where you will need to kill an enemy in order to retrieve resources or get puzzle hints. Keep in mind that the enemy does not stay dead, after a period of time has passed it will revive. Only use a Flare as a last resort to permanently remove an enemy.

Push Enemies Away

Not all the rooms you enter in Signalis will be large, when you enter a smaller room combat will become more difficult as the enemies are able to get close, and you will find it difficult to aim and get a shot off before they attack you. The solution to this problem is to simply press the 'Fire' button without aiming. When you do this Elstar will instead push the enemy away, it will not do much damage, but it will create some distance between Elstar and the creature which will give you the option to either quickly aim and shoot or flee.

Try All the Doors

Throughout Signalis you will come across doors, some will be wide open, while others will require interacting with to open them. There will also be locked doors with a requirement that must be met in order to access it. This will include things like solving a puzzle or finding a key. Keep in mind that the only way a door will be marked on the map whether locked or unlocked is if you tried to open it, so make sure you at least attempt to open a door when you find one in order to mark it on the map. The map also keeps track of unfinished puzzles, unexplored locations, and incomplete objectives.

Don't Engage Enemies

In most situations there will be a way in which you can get past an enemy in your path without engaging them in combat. Most of these methods will involve baiting the enemy to chase you and then running around them. Only use your pistol to take down the enemy when you are sure there is no way of getting past them.

Use Focussed Aiming

If you do have to use your pistol to take down an enemy a red box will appear around them when you have successfully aimed at them. This red box will then become smaller as your aim begins to focus. When the red box eventually reaches the point where it doesn't get any smaller your shot in this state will be more powerful than usual. When you use Focussed Aiming you will only need two shots instead of 3-4 to take down the enemy which means it is a good way to conserve ammo.

Puzzle Solutions

There are puzzles in Signalis which can be challenging to solve. Keep in mind that the solution for each of them is not hidden from you, all you need to do is pay attention to the clues you are given. Later in the game you will need to read documents, configure your radio, or examine objects to solve the harder puzzles that appear.
