Sekiro can swim on any body of water. You can dash in the water by pressing and holding circle. While swimming, he can still swing and lunge his sword. He can also use other items like the Grappling Hook or the Homeward Idol. Later on, there's a skill that will allow you to dive in the water, which can allow you to reach targets underwater, like when treasure carp hunting.
