Sakura Wars is a cross-genre video game that is the sixth mainline entry and a soft reboot of the Sakura Wars series. The game combines visual novel and dating sim elements with steampunk robots, as the threat of a demonic invasion looms over one of Earth's major cities. Sakura Wars is set in an alternate timeline in Tokyo during 1940. You play former navy captain Seijuro Kamiyama who is brought in to spearhead the Flower Division - an all-female combat squad tasked with defending Japan's capital. You patrol the Grand Imperial Theater, which acts as the Flower Division's base of operations and in between combat missions explore a number of locations throughout the city as you get to know the game's cast of characters and build relationships with your allies in the Flower Division. How to Increase your Mission Ranking
In Sakura Wars you will be graded on your performance during the various combat missions. This ranking will be determined by several factors, these are:
• How fast you clear a stage.
• How many enemies you defeat.
• How much damage you have dealt.
• How much morale you have built up during the mission.
• How many times you had to use reinforcements.
How to get an S-Rank
The battle requirements in Sakura Wars to get an S-Rank in each category are as follows:
• Time: 7:59 or less
• Enemies defeated: 146 or more
• Damage dealt: 72,001 or more
• Morale: 9 or more
• Reinforcements: 0
Note: It is still possible to get an S grade overall even if you don't get an S grade in every category.
How to Increase your Morale
You can increase morale in Shakura Wars by performing Perfect Dodges, taking down an enemy together with your teammates, through certain actions you perform during combat, and by building up trust with the five main heroines.
How to Build Up Trust
You build up trust in Shakura Wars by picking the right choices during the Main events and Side-events in the story. Whenever you choose correctly you will hear a sound to indicate you have have have built up a bit of trust. Building up trust will enable you to get into intimate tete-a-tete events with the five main heroines. In these events you will be able to move the cursor over background elements or the characters to trigger internal monologues and varying responses from the characters. This tete-a-tete events will also give you a higher amount of morale during the start of the combat mission of the chapter. Trust can also be increased by clearing missions from the Battle Bot which will allow you to replay already played missions with a character you want to build up trust with. Explore the Imperial Theater and the Streets of Ginza
During the dating sim segments of Sakura Wars you will be able to roam freely though the Imperial Theatre and the streets of Ginza. Make sure you thoroughly explore these locations for shiny things which can either be clues, or Bromides of the various characters that have appeared in previous games in the Sakura Wars series. You will also be able to find Main and Side-events that you can undertake, some of which will be timed events that need to be cleared in the time limit allotted.
Unlock Koi-Koi Wars Characters
Koi-Koi Wars is a mini-game in Sakura Wars where you play the Japanese Hanafuda card game, Koi-Koi. The mini-game is unlocked though game progression and initially you can only play it with Sakura, and Anzami a little later in the story. The rest of the cast can be unlocked to play Koi-Koi Wars after you have cleared the main game and by using the points you earned from winning games of Koi-Koi Wars to unlock them.
