Search for Blueprints

Blueprints are essential for crafting tools and weapons in Rust. Even if you have the resources, without the Blueprint you will be unable to craft the item you want. Blueprints can be obtained by placing a currently uncraftable item in a Research Table, along with the required amount of scrap.

Research tables can be found in Monuments as well as crafted for your base. To craft a Research Table requires x200 Metal Fragments and x75 Scrap. Prioritize blueprints as much as possible as they are the key to surviving longer in the game as they enable you to craft better weapons.

You will need a Work Bench to craft the actual item. Listed below are the three levels of Work Benches along with the requirements to craft them and what they can be used to make.

Level 1

A Level 1 work bench can be crafted using:

- 500 Wood

- 100 Metal Fragments

- 50 Scrap

Required to craft: Random Experimental Blueprint 75x Scraps

Blueprints will not spawn already learned blueprints

- Double Barrel Shotgun

- Waterpipe Shotgun Weapon

- Beancan Grenade

- Revolver

- Silencer

- Crossbow

- Pistol Bullets

- Shotgun trap

- Satchel Charge

- Flame Turrent

Level 2

A Level 2 Work Bench can be crafted at a Level 1 Work Bench using:

- 500 Scrap

- 500 Metal Fragments

- 20 High Quality Metal

Required to craft: Experimental Blueprint 300x Scraps

Blueprints will not spawn already learned blueprints

- Pump Shotgun

- 12 Gauge Slug

- F1 Grenade

- Muzzle Brake

- Muzzle Boost

- Python Revolver

- Flame Thrower

- Semi-Automatic Pistol

- Semi-Automatic Rifle

- Thompson

- Custom SMG

- 5.56 Rifle Ammo

- 12 Gauge Buckshot

- Incendiary Pistol Bullet

- HV Pistol Ammo

- Land Mine & Auto Turret

- Salvaged Axe and Salvaged Icepick

- Medical Syringe, Large Medkit

- Heavy Plate Helmet, Heavy Plate Jacket and Heavy Plate Pants

- Coffee Can Helmet, Road Sign Jacket and Road Sign Kilt

Level 3

A Level 3 Work Bench can be crafted at a Level 2 Work Bench using:

- 100 High Quality Metal

- 1000 Metal Fragments

- 1250 Scrap

Required to craft: Experimental Blueprint 1000 Scraps

Blueprints will not spawn already learned blueprints

- Rocket Launcher

- Laser Sight

- Explosives

- AK47

- MP5

- C4

- Halo Sight
