Roundguard is a dungeon-crawling, roguelike RPG with pinball physics, lots of loot, and a randomized castle full of monsters. Castle Springbottom is under attack, and it's up to you to rescue the king and defeat the foes that stand in your way. To accomplish this you need to reach the bottom of the dungeon. You are given only one life so you will need to learn how to navigate the dungeon's hazards, master your hero's skills, and make strategic choices if you hope to defeat the final boss. Roundguard is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, Android, and iPhone/iPad. Take a look at our tips to get help in the game.

Plan Ahead to get More Rewards

The game knows where your character is going to bounce based on where you aim, therefore there will be instances where it will be more beneficial if you aim at where you are going to hit and where you will bounce to instead of aiming immediately at what you want. Doing this can sometimes help you to set up enemy kills and get more things like gold and potions.

Choosing the Best Character Class

In Roundguard there are three unique classes from which to choose from and each has their own benefits which you can take advantage of during gameplay. The Warrior class has the highest health, the Wizard class the most mana, while the Rogue class is balanced. Each of the three classes also has it's own set of skills you can master and after each run, the skill they begin with will have changed to something else. The list below compares the three classes.

Warrior Class
The Warrior class has a charge attack that is particularly effective at slicing through obstacles such as pots.

Wizard Class
The Wizard class is strong, the downside though is she is a difficult character to use until you learn her skills. The wisp skill/spell in particular is really strong when stacked.

Rogue Class
The Rogue class has great mobility with a double jump skill and damage over time potential using poison attacks. It is also the most balanced class of the three.

Ultimately the character you will choose will be the one that best suits your game style but if you are unsure which one to select we recommend you start with Shade the Rogue whose skills provide the most control over your movement on top of the potential to deal high damage.

Slice through Pots to Reach Enemies Easily

The easiest way to reach an enemy that is surrounded by pots is by taking the direct approach which is by breaking through them. It is important to remember that damaged pots disappear on the next turn which means it will be easier to reach those tough to hit spots behind a bunch of pots that bosses like to hide behind. If you chose to play as the Warrior class you will have a skill to slice through pots which will make doing this a lot easier.

Hit the Scarab Pot for a Gold Bonus

You will earn points in Roundguard by hitting pots, killing enemies, and landing in the central high-loot zone at the end which will get you loads of points. To get a nice bonus you should attempt to hit the pot that contains the scarab as doing so will give your entire turn a massive payout in gold and points. Getting your hands on a lot of gold is extremely useful as it gives you the opportunity to get rewards by spinning the wheel in between stages.

Always Compare New to Old

While playing Roundguard you are going to find new armour, weapons, and skills. Make sure that before you equip them to your character you compare the differences to what you already have and decide what works best for your current setup. There will be instances where the new will not be better for you so it is always worthwhile to compare new to old before you equip anything.

Use the Map to Guide your Path

The map in Roundguard is procedural and contains three acts. When you open the map you will be able to see the path ahead of you, therefore use the map to your advantage to guide a path towards things like weapons, skills, and armour to make them stronger while steering your character away from potential danger.
