In order to get the Mask of Joy you need to gain access to the Library in Castle Dimitrescu by using the Iron Insignia Key which you can obtain by solving the piano puzzle in the Opera Hall which can be found north of the Courtyard. In the Library you need to kill Dimitrescu's daughter by opening the skylight and exposing her to cold which makes her vulnerable. Then proceed to the Hall of Joy where you will be able to find the Mask of Joy on a stature to your right.
