Knowing how to make lei, the currency used in Resident Evil Village is important as it allows you to trade for weapons, ammo, upgrades, and crafting recipes. These are all things that will help you to survive, therefore you should make money whenever you have an opportunity.

Break Things

When you begin in the game you will be able to find lei by using your knife to smash doors, drawers, cabinets and anything else that you come across that is breakable.

Kill Monsters

You can make lei by defeating monsters as some of these creatures drop a Crystal Skull when you kill them which is worth 900 lei when you sell it to The Duke, Resident Evil Village's merchant.

Crystal Fragments

You can make money by shooting the glowing white spots that dot the landscape, so you dislodge Crystal Fragments. These can then be sold to the Duke for 2,000 lei. You will come across the first Crystal Fragment early on, when you are exploring the area around the Maiden of War statue while trying to open the castle gate.
