Let the coven elder shoot the corresponding fire thingy in front of the statues.
Then you will have it captured, and go on with your yourney...

Let the coven elder shoot the empty fire thingys in front of the statues with the coresponding color/powertype.
Like the ones you activated before you got there...
Dark-electric-ice-fire (i think)
It will be stuck in a forcefield, and you can go on with your yourney.

Both of these answers are half assed. The elder must shoot the actual pillars in order to ignite them.

You need him to hit the pillars not the empty fire holders you obviously continued out of sheer dumb luck
