Don't Waste your Energy Weapons
It is important to remember that energy weapons such as disruptors and phasers start dropping your weapon energy level if you fire 2 or more of them together. This means you can actually end up doing less damage if you overwork your ship. There are ways though you can mitigate this to some degree with devices, skills, and power distribution.
