How to get the Bruiser Achievement/Trophy

To get the Bruiser achievement/trophy you must beat Peter Cairns in a fight which will only happen if you correctly convict Cairns of the crime at the end of the first case, 'The Fate of Black Peter'. In order to convict Peter Cains you will first need the following evidence to reach the right conclusion at the end of the case:

- Stolen valuable papers

- Looking for papers

- Neligan's innocence

- Harmless flirting

- Unexplained presence

- Hurtley's innocence

- Feat of strength

- Pouch proves guilt

Once you have all the evidence you will be able to reach the conclusion on the 'Deduction' screen that Cairns was the killer. Select the 'Condemn' option which is the X button on your PlayStation controller (A button on Xbox controller) when the game asks you to either 'Condemn' or 'Absolve' him. Upon doing so Cairns will punch Lestrade and initiate a fight with Sherlock.

To beat Cairns, you have to aim within the circle around his face with the left stick and quickly press X (A) when the circle turns blue. After three consecutive successful hits you have to press Triangle (Y) in a QTE to knock him down and beat him for good. If you fail you just need to press Square (X) after the conversation with Lestrade to make use of the 'Replay Ending' option and repeat the above steps.

How to get the Suicide is Not an Option! Achievement/Trophy

To get the Suicide is Not an Option! Achievement/trophy you must prevent Miss White from committing suicide. The fifth case in Sherlock Holmes Crimes & Punishments is The Kew Gardens Drama and you must reach the correct conclusion which is Miss White is an accomplice.

During the end cutscene Miss White will pull out some poison to kill herself. In order to stop her you must press the X button on your PlayStation controller (A on Xbox controller) when prompted to step forward. You then will have a couple of seconds to aim at her hand with the left stick of your controller and then grab the poison by pressing X again (A).

How to get the I Never Guess Achievement/Trophy

To get the I Never Guess achievement/trophy you need to reach 6 correct conclusions for all 6 of the cases in Sherlock Holmes Crimes & Punishments. Listed below are the correct conclusions, this does not need to be done on one playthrough, cases can be replayed.

Case 1: Cairns is guilty

Case 2: Mexicans drowned Chileans

Case 3: Blinkhorn (ice knife)

Case 4: The Captain is the killer

Case 5: White is an accomplice

Case 6: Foley's vengeance

How to get the An Omnivorous Reader Achievement/Trophy

To get the An Omnivorous Reader achievement/trophy you need to receive 3 messages from those whom you condemned or absolved. In Sherlock Holmes Crimes & Punishments a letter will be sent to you at the end of each case. The letter will appear over the fireplace at the house in Baker Street. Choosing certain options during a case can result in characters being executed or killed which means letters cannot be received.

Providing you have solved the previous cases successfully you will unlock this achievement/trophy upon completion of Case 3: Blood Bath, during the load screen for the start of Case 4: Abbey Grange Affair. You do not need to read the letters.

How to get the Haunted House Achievement/Trophy

To get the Haunted House achievement/trophy you need to catch the thieves at Notting Hill Manor. You will be able to earn this achievement/trophy at the end of the sixth and last case of the game.

When you go to the manor earlier in the day you need to use items to block various exits. The beads are placed at the top of the stairs to block the upstairs. The chair in the kitchen blocks the kitchen door. The cabinet moves to block the first-floor window. The rolled-up carpet covers open the cellar hatch. The rope from the stove connects the chandelier and hammer. The achievement/trophy will unlock as soon as you have the traps set up, before you return at midnight. Take a look at the video below to see how you set up the traps.
