Melee Attack

If you discover you have no more isotopes to charge your laser with you can always press R1 to melee strike objects.

Avoid Wildlife Attack

When you find yourself being attacked by local wildlife you can press the melee button on your controller while you are moving to perform a dodge/dash in that direction.


When you need to see in the dark press the D-Pad Up to illuminate the world around you.

Analysis Visor Zoom

Once you have crafted the Analysis Visor you will be able to increase the zoom on it up to 3x by pressing R3 when looking through the visor with L2.

Unlimited Jetback Boost

When you find that you have fallen down a deep hole or need to exit a cave at the bottom of a steep chasm you can use use your jetpack boost indefinately as long as you are in close proximity to the wall or vertical surface. Simply face the wall or verticle surface and keep yourself close to it while you boost upwards to reach the top.


Remember that whenever you encounter a Sentinal, whether you are facing a single combat unit or several of the smaller drones, they are most vulnerable to plasma grenades.

Recharge Hazard Protection Modules

If you discover you have no zinc or titanium left but need to recharge your hazard protection modules you can always craft a Shielding Sheet from iron as this will recharge anything that needs oxide. However, to build a Shielding Sheet you will need a blueprint and the required resources (Iron x150 and Platinum x20).

Valuable Resources

Your HUD will display various icons when you scan a nearby area. Make sure you keep an eye out for a grey chest as this indicates a stockpile of valuable resources that could also contain Gold or Emeril.
