Necropolis is a third-person action rogue-lite role-playing game that is set in a labyrinth in an abstract dimension and features moving platforms and hidden treasure. You are able to alter parts of the world by solving puzzles. The Enemies you encounter include dead adventurers, wild animals, and abandoned machinery. The game revolves around an arch mage named Abraxis and his efforts in a secret underground tomb to practice magic far from civilization. You take on the role of various adventurers who have arrived at this strange, otherworldly Necropolis. Necropolis is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Mac, and PC. Scattered throughout Necropolis you will come across broken crystal towers. Do not repair these unless you want to challenge yourself as activating them will unlock new and harder content in the game.
It is worthwhile comlpeting the Tasks given by the Brazen Head, a magical intelligence created by the archmage Abraxis, as they will reward you with Tokens of Favor which you can then use to purchase Codexes, Armor Dyes, and to open Treasure Chests on the starting elevator room of new levels.
The best Codex to use from level 1-4 in Necropolis is Carpe Per Diem. This codex doubles the value of the gems you pick up. Teammates receive 15% of the doubled gem value. If you use Carpe Per Diem from level 1-4 you will have enough cash to last the whole game, keep using it until Blessings of the Gods are maxed out. Another good Codex to have on l-3 is Vampirism Is Your Friend which heals for 5% of the damage dealt.
If you are new to Necropolis and are unsure which hero to select then it is recommended that you choose Galthran, a male vampire Death Knight. The speed/attack/defense bonus Galthran gives to skeletons makes him the best necromancer. Although you will get less skeletons they will be way stronger due to his Skeleton specialty. Galthran also starts with Shield and Armorer which is very good.
Another good choice is Isra, a female undead Death Knight who like Galthran is also a necromancer. Isra starts with advanced necromancy which will allow you to snowball skeletons faster than anyone else.
There are lots of different types of loot in Necropolis and breaking the pots and piles of skeletons you come across as you progress will give you a chance to obtain some of them.
The rewards pots and skeleton piles sometimes yield for breaking them include crafting materials, potions, food, scrolls, and gems. Be sure to also interact with baskets when you come across them as there is a chance you will get the same rewards from them also.
