How to Revive Team Members

You can revive a fallen team member in Earth Defense Force 5 by walking up to them and pressing E (enter vehicle key) on your keyboard. When you revive a downed team member half of your current health will be removed and given to them. It is important to remember that reviving a team member will always remove half of your current health, even if that is more than the team members maximum. Also, you must have at least 25% health left, any less, and you will not be able to revive a team member.

Farming Hard Weapons

The following missions are good for farming Hard weapons on any difficulty setting.

Mission 62 (Offline)
Don't move from the Parking Garage and don??t use explosives. As long as you stay on the Parking Garage you will be safe and you will be able to pick off the enemies below.

Mission 82 (Offline)
Jump into the Barga mech and start smashing. This is one of the best and easiest missions to farm on Hard/Harder/Hardest difficulties.

Mission 87 (Offline)
Don??t stay and fight, instead sprint upstream to the waterfall and wedge yourself between the rocks on the right. While you are stuck between the rocks you will be safe and from there you will be able to pick off the enemies with non-explosive weapons.

Mission 101
In this mission you will face a huge number of very weak enemies. This mission is best played on the Hardest difficulty setting. Take out as many enemies as you can and try to collect as many crates as you can before dying. If you can win, this is easily the most efficient mission to farm for bulk drops.

How to Recruit Soldiers

In many of the missions in Earth Defense Force 5 you will be joined by AI soldiers who are autonomous, moving along a set patch attacking anything they come across. You will be able to tell if an AI soldier is recruitable because they will have a red arrow above it's head. When this is the case you simply have to walk up to the soldier, and they will join you, this basically means they will follow you around as best they can. There are also some autonomous units that may become available to recruit if their leader dies so keep and eye out for them.

How to Get Weapons and Armor

In Earth Defense Force 5 you get new weapons and armor (which increases your HP) by picking up boxes during missions, weapon boxes are green while armor boxes are red. You will be able to see the contents of these boxes once the mission has finished, the majority of which will go towards the class you are currently playing. Any boxes still left on the ground when the mission finishes are lost.

However, if you fail the mission you will only be able to keep a percentage of the boxes, this is determined by how well you did in the mission and what difficulty setting you were playing. The percentage of boxes you can expect to keep is 100% on Easy, 75% on Normal, 50% on Hard, 25% on Hardest, and 0% on Inferno difficulty.

Unlock Inferno Mode

This mode which also unlocks the Harder and Hardest difficulty settings becomes available when you have comleted the story. In Inferno mode you can play missions in any order, at any difficulty level.

How to Upgrade Weapons

A weapon in Defense Force 5 that can be upgraded will be identified by a number and the outline of a five-pointed star next to a stat that can be upgraded on it's item card. As the weapon increases in quality the number will increase in value and once it becomes maxed out the star will turn white. Once all stats for a weapon are maxed a star will then appear next to it's name in the 'Weapon Select' menu.

If no star appears next to the stat on the item card it indicates that the stat is fixed and the weapon can not be upgraded.
