Armour

Armour works as a passive upgrade to your character and grants them various abilities. Armour is not permanent like augs and will be replaced whenever you pick up another piece of armour in the equivalent slot. If you manage to collect ALL four pieces of a specific armour set you will be granted a set bonus. If you complete the Armatort set for example your set bonus will be immunity to spikes.

Getting Powers

Whenever you defeat a level-ending boss you will earn a power. Each boss has it's own dedicated power and when you have obtained it you find that it will be effective on other specific bossses. Even if you are unable to match the power with the boss the power will still deal a lot more damage against them. Using this power though will come at the cost of your Energy bar.

Soul Chips

Soul Chips are earned during gameplay and their frequency will increase the further you get into the game. Unlike other items in the game you will retain the Soul Chips you have earned when you return to base after a failed mission. At the base you will be able to spend your Soul Chips on various permanent upgrades to your character and the game making future runs much easier. To maximize your Soul Chips in a run you need to keep an eye out for enemies that glow. Although they will take a lot more damage they will net you more Soul Chips for your trouble.

Easy Difficulty

If you are learning the game you may want to consider playing the 'Revenant' difficulty setting which is the equivalent of Easy mode. In 'Revenant' difficulty you are given three lives instead of one to beat the game which makes collecting the Soul Chips easier.

Beginner

If you are a beginner who has played Mega Man it is advised that you pick Nina when given the choice of Ace and Nina as her style will feel very familiar. Also, her blaster allows you to stay at range, which makes learning new enemies and boss patterns a lot easier.
