Prison Life Tips

• Get a Keycard for Easier Escapes

If you are an Inmate, getting a Keycard can make escaping much easier. A Keycard lets you open secured doors that you normally cannot use.

Guards have a chance to drop a Keycard when they are killed. If you see one on the ground, grab it quickly because Guards can remove dropped Keycards.

Once you have one, head for a secured door and use it to get out instead of trying to fight your way through the prison.

• Use the Cafeteria Vent to Escape

The cafeteria kitchen has a vent that can take you to the prison roof. This is a useful escape route when the main doors are being watched by Guards.

Go to the left vent in the kitchen and use the truss to reach the vent tunnels. You can then make your way to the roof and continue your escape.

Be careful with old Prison Life guides. The right vent was closed and the old ladder was replaced, so some older escape videos are now out of date.

• Get the Hammer or Crude Knife in the Yard

The Yard has weapons that Inmates can pick up, including the Hammer and Crude Knife.

The Hammer is under a bench near the weights. The Crude Knife can be found around the bleachers and tables.

The Hammer is especially useful because it can damage Guards and can also be used to break a toilet and open the sewer escape route.

If another player has already taken a weapon, wait for it to respawn and check the Yard again.

• Use Cover When Escaping

Getting out of the prison does not mean you are safe. Guards can still see and Tase you if you run across open areas.

When you escape, use walls, buildings and other objects for cover. Don't run in a straight line across the open ground if a Guard is nearby.

If you have a Keycard, think about where you are going before opening a secured door. A little planning can stop you from escaping the prison only to get caught outside.

• Tase Prisoners Before Using Handcuffs

If you are playing as a Guard, use your Taser to stop a fleeing prisoner before trying to arrest them.

Tase the prisoner first, then move in with your Handcuffs. The Taser stuns the player for five seconds, giving you time to get close enough to make the arrest.

Don't fire the Taser too early. Wait until you have a clear shot and are close enough to reach the player while they are stunned.

This is much safer than trying to chase a running prisoner with Handcuffs.

How to get Tools and Guns

Listed below are the various tools and guns that are available in Prison Life. Remember that you cannot have two of the same tool or gun in your inventory and that some are team exclusive.

• Chocolate Bar

  The Chocolate Bar is obtained when you use a vending machine, it grants a small stamina boost when consumed.

• Hammer

  You can find the Hammer below a bench in a yard. It can be used to break a toilet and escape through the sewers. It can also be used as a melee weapon (Guards are unable to obtain hammers).

• Crude Knife

  The Crude Knife can be found in either the white bleachers or under one of the four tables near a corner and is used as a melee weapon (Guards are unable to obtain crude knives).

• M9 Beretta

  The Beretta M9 pistol can be obtained by either breaking into the Armory, killing a guard or spawning as a guard. This lightweight, semi-automatic pistol has 15 bullets. It has a decent fire rate and is not automatic.

• Remington 870 Pump-Action Shotgun

  This pump-action shotgun can be obtained at both the Armory or the Criminal Warehouse. The Remington 870 has 6 bullets and is non automatic. It can kill in 1 shot at close range but is inaccurate at longer ranges. It has a slow fire rate.

• M4A1 Assault Rifle

  The M4A1 Assault Rifle is a fully automatic weapon that can be obtained at the Armory and locked to players with the Riot Police Gamepass. It has a high fire rate and accuracy with 30 bullets.

• Riot Shield

  The Riot Shield can be obtained at the Armory and locked to players with the Riot Police Gamepass. When equipped it can be used to block bullets and projectiles.

• AK-47 Assault Rifle

  The AK-47 Assault Rifle can be obtained at the Criminal Warehouse. It has 30 bullets and a high rate of fire and accuracy, but is less powerful than the M4A1.
