Here are our best tips, tricks and strategy for getting started in Princess Peach: Showtime

Make sure to check every corner

When playing through Princess Peach: Showtime, you'll be going through different stages and levels shown in a theater style. There's going to be a lot of exploration ahead, so you'll want to check every corner of a stage and see if there are objects you can interact with. In doing so, you'll be able to find a lot of collectibles.

There are coins which can be used for the lobby shop, bows and ribbons for your outfits and for stella, as well as sparkle gems which are needed to reach the boss. By collecting all available ones, you'll be able to unlock bonuses such as photos. With that in mind, try to make a clear sweep during a stage since you won't know what else is hiding without interacting with them.

Check if you can go through the background

Since you're on a stage, there's a lot of set pieces that you'll be encountering as you play through the game. Some sets provide you with decorations or furniture to change the setting, and there will be instances where entire sceneries change because of the background that's used.

It would be best for you to check out the background if there's a way for you to pass through them in order to reach the back area. You can reach new places to discover or perhaps find more collectible items that can be useful later on.

Ask Stella for Advice

There's a lot of transformations that you'll be able to use in Princess Peach: Showtime. You can become a Ninja, a Detective, and so much more. With each transformation you have, you'll also be able to get some abilities that can help you out. There are a lot of transformations so you might forget which skills you can use.

Press the X button in order to ask Stella for advice, she'll be able to tell you about the moves that you can do with your current transformation. Soon enough, you'll be able to get the hang of the different transformations that Peach has and use them as needed.

Try out HD rumble

The Nintendo Switch joycons as well as the Pro Controller have a feature called HD rumble. If you have this turned on in the game, you can use it as a way for you to find things that are hidden. Once you feel a rumble, it will signal that there's a spotlight nearby which will activate when you step on them.

Spotlights will appear after Peach has been transformed, so make sure to look for unusual spots across the stages. These can include faint patches of light, or may be cracks. As you step on them, something can happen such as new platforms appearing. You may be able to explore a different area as well. By having HD rumble on, you'll be able to find these spots much easier along with your sight.

Get Heart Charms if you need some help

There may be times where you're having a difficult run through a stage, and you lose out on hearts fast. When that happens, you'll either have to replay the stage, or use coins to go back to checkpoints. If this happens often, you'll probably want to get some help to make things easier for you.

You can talk to a Theet on the first floor in order for you to get a Heart Charm. This item lets you acquire three more hearts once you've put it on. If you feel that you don't need it any longer, you can simply talk back to them in order to return it.

Get more outfits and coins

There's a feature in the Princess Peach: Showtime called Action Rehearsals which can be unlocked once you have completed each floor. Talk to a Theet and you'll learn about action rehearsals where you'll receive a task that needs to be completed.

Upon successfully completing Action Rehearsals, you'll be rewarded with things such as outfits as well as coins. This can be useful as well in case you lose all of your hearts during a level so you can exchange 10 coins instead to go back to a checkpoint.

What happens if you run out of coins and hearts?

If you run out of hearts during a level, coins can be used in order for you to resume. However, there can be instances where you've used up all of your coins, so what will happen if you run out of hearts? Losing out on hearts numerous times may involve you having to redo the stage all over again, but you'll eventually get another option to complete the level.

There's a pity system that lets you complete it, but any coins that you've collected in the stage will all be exchanged. With this in mind, it would be best for you to try and avoid this situation since coins can be used for other things instead, so try to practice your skills!

Continue playing after the main story

Aside from trying to complete all collectible items, there's a lot of things you can do once you've finished the game. 100% completion can be acquired if you wish so collect your items, get gold trophies during action rehearsals, and find all hidden pose locations. You'll also be able to unlock new challenges after the main game.

You can try to challenge all the Darkle bosses you've defeated with additional challenges. For example, one challenge might require you not to take damage, or perhaps you need to be good at aiming. By completing all challenges available, you'll be able to get more sparkle gems. Take note that the sparkle gems you get from these boss fights are needed if you want to get 100% completion.

Decorate the Theater

Once you've completed the main game, you can add decorations on each floor at the Sparkle Theater. If you go to the shop that sells outfits, you'll find another Theet beside them in order to sell you some goods. You can use decorations to change the appearance of things at the theater such as adding ribbons to pillars, or perhaps changing the looks of curtains.

Each decoration that you can purchase will be three per floor. The basement isn't included here, but there's 15 decorations in total that you can purchase. This will make the theater more vibrant, so try to complete them all.
