The best place for you to find out how to fill your National Pokedex would be at Serebii.net's Diamond and Pearl pokedex. Once you are there, you can just look for the Pokemon that you want, see how to get him, what moves he can learn, and all that other stuff.

Go to www.serebii or the supercheats pokedex. It has all of the locations of the pokemon. It may not be the quickest or easest way but I is very usefull. ( I ended up getting 100+ Pokemon thanks to these two sites).

There isn't really a best way. Just battle people and catch Pokemon and you'll eventually complete it. You'll feel much prouder if you do it yourself rather than trading. I completed it in under a week. I did get stuck on Bunnery. I never encounted one in the forest and I didn't find the masion until after I completed it. You could always buy a Action Replay and use the code that makes the fossil guy give you any Pokemon but it's better too wait and do it yourself.
