Its my only ever piece of work on a game apart from reviews but I did attempt to do more guides for guns such as Rainbow Six Vegas and Warhawk. The reason I didnt complete them was for a couple of reasons. For RB6V it was because 1. There were 2 many guns that did the same thing and 2. It was boring to write about half of them because I ended up using the same sentences over and over again. Eventually I just dropped the project. For Warhawk it was just plain simple, got to old too fast so I ended up only going on the game for the purpose of writing the guide. So obviously I just dropped that too. Maybe when Resistance 2 comes out Ill be writing another one seeing as how I get around 100 views on this guide a day (Its pretty good for me seeing as how Im just a 14 year old who lives in Wales and has nothing that interesting about my culture.) If you actually read to this part I thank you and hope you find this guide as useful as possible because in the end it was my only goal to. ======================================================== Authorized Websites ======================================================== http://www.gamefaqs.com/ http://uk.gamespot.com/ http://www.neoseeker.com/ http://www.supercheats.com/ ======================================================== Getting Around ======================================================== Even though this guide is pretty small for the fact its only about weapons you encounter in R:FoM, I decided to make a handy navigator system just to make navigating easier so Ive added the typical [Ctrl]+[F] which calls up the Find menu. Enter the corresponding code next to section that you want to view and press enter to jump to that section. ======================================================== Index ======================================================== 1 Update History------------------------------- [SA10] 2 - About This FAQ------------------------------- [SA20] 3 Controls------------------------------------- [SA30] 3.1 - Player Controls--------------------------- [SA31] 3.2 - Vehicle Controls-------------------------- [SA32] 3.3 - M12 Saber tooth Tank-------------------- [SA33] 3.4 LU-P Lynx Jeep-------------------------- [SA34] 3.5 - Stalker - Chimeran Tank------------------- [SA35] 4 - Rage Mode------------------------------------ [SA40] 5 - Unlock able Weapons-------------------------- [SA50] 6 - Weapons (1st Time) 6.1 - M5A2 CABINE------------------------------- [SA61] 6.2 Bullseye---------------------------------- [SA62] 6.3 - Rossmore 236------------------------------ [SA63] 6.4 - Auger Rifle------------------------------- [SA64] 6.5 - L23 Fareye-------------------------------- [SA65] 6.6 - XR-005 HailStorm-------------------------- [SA66] 6.7 - L209 LAARK-------------------------------- [SA67] 6.8 - XR-003 Sapper----------------------------- [SA68] 7 - Grenades (1st Time)-------------------------- [SA70] 7.1 Frag Grenade------------------------------ [SA71] 7.2 HedgeHog Grenade-------------------------- [SA72] 7.3 Air-Fuel Grenade-------------------------- [SA73] 8 - Unlocked Weapons (2nd Time)------------------ [SA80] 8.1 Reapers----------------------------------- [SA81] 8.2 - Arc Charger------------------------------- [SA82] 8.3 - L11-2 Dragon------------------------------ [SA83] 8.4 Splitter---------------------------------- [SA84] 8.5 Blacklash Grenades------------------------ [SA85] 9 Ideas---------------------------------------- [SA90] ======================================================== 1. About This FAQ [SA20] ======================================================== Running and gunning is a fool's game; you need to be at on with your artillery to really shine. As you progress through the game, you'll pick up more and more guns to add to your arsenal, but use them wisely... This guide is all about the weapons in R:FoM, I could never find one so I decided to make one myself. It will explain both offline and online guns. Most Guides to Resistance dont include a weapons part or not much detail. ======================================================== 3. Controls [SA30] ======================================================== These are the standard controls (Default) Just thought Id let you know as I dont want people asking what button to press ect, ect, ======================================================== 3.1 - Player Controls [SA31] ======================================================== Left Analog Stick - Move character / Strafe Right Analog Stick - Turn character / Look up or down Select - Intelligence Menu / Also lists mission name and objective. These can all be changed via the in game menu. ======================================================== 3.2 - Vehicle Controls [SA32] ======================================================== You will encounter a few vehicles in the game, sadly none online:(, perhaps in the future. ******************************************************** M12 Saber tooth Tank [SA33] ******************************************************** Left Analog Stick - Move Forward / Backward Right Analog Stick - Aim / Turn Turret Triangle - Enter / Exit Tank Circle - Enter Turret L1 - Fire Machine Gun R1 - Fire Main Cannon / Fire Turret ======================================================== Co-Op Controls ======================================================== Right Analog Stick - Aim Turret R1 - Fire Turret ******************************************************** LU-P Lynx Jeep [SA34] ******************************************************** Left Analog Stick - Steer Vehicle Right Analog Stick - Look Around (has no effect on direction traveled) Square - Brake / Reverse Triangle - Enter / Exit Lynx Circle - Enter Passenger Seat X - Accelerate L1 - Emergency Brake R1 - Fire Gun (passenger seat only) R2 - Accelerate ======================================================== Co-Op Controls ======================================================== Right Analog Stick - Aim Turret R1 - Fire Turret ******************************************************** Stalker - Chimeran Tank [SA35] ******************************************************** Left Analog Stick - Move Stalker Right Analog Stick - Look Around / Aim Weapons Triangle - Enter / Exit Stalker Circle - Enter Gun Turret X - Dash (Temporary burst of speed) L1 - Launch Missile R1 - Fire Machine Gun ======================================================== Co-Op Controls ======================================================== Right Analog Stick - Aim Turret R1 - Fire Turret ======================================================== 4. Rage Mode [SA40] ======================================================== If you ever play online mode(Best part of the game) then you get the chance to play as Hybrid, the main difference between Humans is Rage Mode, it causes you to see body heat but it also increases weapon damage (VERY handy) ======================================================== 5. Unlock able Weapons [SA50] ======================================================== After one play-through on any mode you will unlock 4 new guns and 1 grenade. I will explain about them later. ======================================================== 6. Weapons (1st Time) [SA60] ======================================================== -------------------------------------------------------- [SA61] -------------------------------------------------------- M5A2 CABINE - You should view this as your default weapon of choice; it has the most ammo available to it, it's accurate, and it causes a decent amount of damage. It also has a Grenade Launcher function on L1 that's handy to use when you're out of grenades or LAARK ammo and when you feel when online you'll die if you dont kill him quickly. Online change - Just as good as on Single Player but carrys only two Grenade Launcher's at a time. Can also be another annoying weapon with infinite ammo on as you can just nuke every thing around you! -------------------------------------------------------- [SA62] -------------------------------------------------------- Bullseye - Main Hybrid weapon of choice; youll know it from the orange bullets you're constantly dodging. It's not the strongest or most accurate of weapons, but the secondary Homing Tag ability is great for taking down turret users, Titans and Angels. Press L1 to latch one and then fire from cover. Online change - Seems to be less accurate and has infinite Tags. -------------------------------------------------------- [SA63] -------------------------------------------------------- Rossmore 236 - Essential for close encounters with Gray Jacks and Howlers, this shotgun stuns such enemies in their path, stopping them from swiping at you. You should use this in tight quarters or whenever hostiles get to close. Pressing L1 shoots both barrels - great for killing in bulk. Online change - *WARNING* VERY deadly at close range when playing as Hybrid in rage mode, can reck any one's day .Clip only holds 6 rounds too so its slows down the killing spree. -------------------------------------------------------- [SA64] -------------------------------------------------------- Auger Rifle - Noobish or genius? Whatever the case, shooting through walls is a dam great skill that this baby brings to you repertoire. Watch for when your crosshairs turns red to know when an enemy is waiting on the other side of a wall and let rip; very useful against bigger Chimera too, and with the energy shield you can watch them die at the same time. *Warning* Steel Heads can still hit you no matter what as they use the gun too. Online change - Playing as Hybrids is when this gun becomes useful, some guy hiding behind a wall with a Rossmore and you spotted him first? Well just pop it out and lay a couple in the head. The shields also recharge over time. -------------------------------------------------------- [SA65] -------------------------------------------------------- L23 Fareye - One of the most useful guns in the game because of its focus ability that slows down time (hold L1). You don't have to limit its use to extreme ranges either as it recharges over time. Use it to nab some head shots against some of the bigger guys. Online change - No focus :( but you dont have to reload your clip either. -------------------------------------------------------- [SA66] -------------------------------------------------------- XR-005 HailStorm - Fires green bolts that bounce off walls and objects. Be creative; use it to fire around corners, with L1 into a tight room just as affective as a grenade. Online change - Taken out :( -------------------------------------------------------- [SA67] -------------------------------------------------------- L209 LAARK - The rocket launcher; no game is complete without it. This is best against Stalkers and Widow Makers. Hold L1 to stop in mid-air then R1 to release lots of more rockets that can kill any thing with ONE shot. Online change - the L1 to R1 function is neither useful nor as powerful on Single Player. *Online Warning* YOU WILL GET A LOT OF GREIF IN CUSTOM GAMES WITH UNLIMTED AMMO AS; EVERY ONE SEEMS TO GRAB AND BLOW! -------------------------------------------------------- [SA68] -------------------------------------------------------- XR-003 Sapper As pointless as it seems at first, it actually has 3 brilliant uses: one, lay some of its mines on Leaper Pods to melt them away upon impact; two, lay some down in front of you when ambushed by Rollers; an three, drop them as a trap and L1 to detonate Online change - Taken out :D ======================================================== 7. Grenades (1st Time) [SA70] ======================================================== -------------------------------------------------------- [SA71] -------------------------------------------------------- Frag Grenade - Throw these whenever you see a cluster of enemies or to damage foes that refuse to move out of the way of cover .Also us them to destroy Leaper Pods if out of Sapper ammo. Online change - Most useful grenade online, carry limit only 2 though :( -------------------------------------------------------- [SA72] -------------------------------------------------------- Hedgehog Grenade - Not as damaging as Frags but still useful in dishing out pain to multiple targets. Use them in similar instances to Frags and consider them to be your helper in combat. Online change - 2nd useful grenade online, carry limit is still 2. -------------------------------------------------------- [SA73] -------------------------------------------------------- Air-Fuel Grenade - BBQ in 5-10 seconds! Only really good in Single Player and CO-OP, as it just fry and burn. Its sticks to walls though and makes a green gas affect with a blast of fire soon after. Also if you hold onto O after you've thrown it the gas will "leak" all of the gas causing extra damage and the ability to time the bomb although it will go off eventually. Online changes - Last grenade to use, only good in unlimited rounds when you can just napalm your opponent as the only people who fall for this is noobs who ignore the gas or people who are in a huge gun-fight and to busy to hide, run, doge and shoot all at the time. ======================================================== 8. Unlocked Weapons (2nd Time) [SA80] ======================================================== -------------------------------------------------------- [SA81] -------------------------------------------------------- Reapers - Found entering the building on 'The Gauntlet', these two handguns target enemies in your view once they have been under the aim of your crosshairs at least once. Hold R1 and L1 to fire both guns at once, not having to worry about aiming! They are pretty good as killing menials on Hard mode and SH as you need two hits with a gun to kill them and the Reapers have a unique way of melee which you do this karate chop action with both at the same time. Online change - Taken out :( -------------------------------------------------------- [SA82] -------------------------------------------------------- Arc Charger - Found just before the wormhole during the 'No Way Out' chapter of Cheshire. Its power multiplies with ever shot, tagging onto enemies for a second when you can trigger an Are by pressing L1 to damage multiply enemies. Very useful closely pact enemies. Online change - Less ammo but its a weapon underestimated... -------------------------------------------------------- [SA83] -------------------------------------------------------- L11-2 Dragon - Found in the Bristol, 'Devil at the Door' stage; after the Titan, go down the left isle with all the mines and find it in the room. Its just a plain useless Flame-Thrower to most gamers but by holding L1 you can charge it up for about 2-3 seconds and release and you got a 1-hit 1-kil to most Chimera. Online changes - Smaller gas tank but VERY lethal to Chimera with L1 as it will melt them on the spot! But useless against humans unless you want to rank up on assists. -------------------------------------------------------- [SA84] -------------------------------------------------------- Splitter - Found round on the second floor as you approach the windows of the 'A Desperate Gamble' stage in London. It fires a packet of explosive rounds that you can split by pressing L1 as the zoom ahead. VERY USEFULL against almost every one as its as powerful as the LAARK but without the blast radius. Online change - Taken out :( -------------------------------------------------------- [SA85] -------------------------------------------------------- Backlash Grenades - Found immediate left in the building after the Cathedral, (Manchester) these grenades release a big round force shield, damaging those Chimera that are touching inside the bubble and reflecting their bullets into them! Also good against Stalkers that tend to stay still and shoot. By far THE BEST grenade in the game so you should look after them and they'll look after you! Online change - Taken out :( :( :( :( :( :( ======================================================== 9. Ideas [SA90] ======================================================== From now on Im not going to accept any more ideas. The main reason is because I dont want to spend the rest of my life updating a game. I dont care if theres a new map pack or gun out I wont put it up. Thank you for reading and I hope to see you when Resistance 2 comes out!
