1)The Backgorund Story
The Year is 2025. A 3rd World War has ravedged the world, and left it scarred and bitter. Governments are too tired to fight, and as such has risen Private Military Corporations/Companies/Coalitions (PMCs).

2) PMCS
The PMCs fight for any Government willing and able to pay. But the competition between the top 3 PMCs (S.V.E.R. Valor and Raven) has become so fierce that they have begun to attack each other, which gave rise to the Shadow War, which is the name of the battle between the factions. This is were you step in. Pick your choice of the PMCs and help win the Shadow War!

Seryi Volk Excecutive Response (S.V.E.R.): A group set in the Middle East, they believe in Honour and Respect. They have older weapons, but much better at manouvering and tactics.

Valor: A group set in Alaska, that hires from the USA and Britain. They are very experienced and know what they're doing.

Raven:A group with their HQ in Central America, but hire from Central Europe. They have the latest weapons and train their Newcomers using Virtual Simulation, although this means they lack experience.

4) Classes
A class is a predetermined set of Weapons, Armour and Equipment. You can have up to 5 different classes at any one time. You can set up a class in the armoury. The amount and quality of objects able to place in a class is determined by your credits.

Primary Weapon: This is the main weapon your class uses. They fall into 5 categories: Assault Rifle, Machine Gun, Sub-Machine Gun, Shotgun and Sniper Rifle.

Secondary Weapon: This is the side arm your class uses. It is a pistol by default, but can be changed for a Personal Defense Weapon (PDW) (See Skill tree for info on how to obtain this)

Equipment and Heavy Gear Slots: This is a place to place any Equipment you may need in the battle, such as Medical and First-Aid Kits, Grenades, RPGs and Mines.

Armour: There are 3 types of Armour:

Heavy armour: Provides the most Protection, but slows you down the most and uses the most Credits. I recommend you use this armour.

Medium Armour: A mix of Proection and Mobility, it's handy if you're using a large gun, or a lot of Equipment, as it uses less Credits.

Light Armour: Offers minimal Protection, but allows much quicker movement and very few Credits. I highly recommend avoiding this armour.

5) Skill Tree

8) Game Modes
MAG is divided up into 4 different Game Modes: Suppression, Sabotage, Accuisition and Domination. There is a fifth Game Mode, called Directives, which selects a Game Mode for you. You will receive extra xp for this.
*Note* Squad= group of 8 players
Platoon= Group of 4 squads, or 32 players
Company= Group of 4 Platoons, or 16 Squads, or 128 players.

Suppression: The first Game Mode you unlock. It's a training exercise with fellow people in your PMC, using non-lethal ammunition. Team is made up of 1 Platoon, or 32 players. Time: unlimited
Anyone who has played any sort of Online Game will know it as Team Deathmatch. You simply defeat the players on the other team. It has no effect on the Shadow War, but a good way of getting xp and training.

Sabotage: The second Game Mode you unlock. Features 1 team attacking, and 1 defending. Team made up of 1 Platoon, or 32 Players. Level required: 4 Time: 20 minutes
In this game mode, the Attacking Team tries to capture and hold two targets, A and B. When both A and B are held simultaneously, a third target is activated,C, which the attacker must try to destroy it.
The defenders must defend A & B, and, should it come to it,C.

Defending: Major Victory: Enemy fails to have captured A & B simultaneously at the end of 20 minutes.
Minor Victory: Enemy captures A&B, but fails to demolish C
Minor Defeat: Enemy destroys C, but takes more than 10 minutes.
Major Defeat: Enemy destroys C within 10 minutes

Attacking: Major Victory: Destroy C within 10 minutes
Minor Victory: Destroy C, but take longer than 10 minutes
Minor Defeat: Capture A&B, but fail to destroy C
Major Defeat: Fail to capture A&B

Accuisition: The third Game Mode you unlock. 1 team attacks, 1 defends. Team made of 2 Platoons, or 64 players. Level required: 6 Time: 20 minutes.
In this Game, the Attackers attempt to capture 2 special vehicles. The Vehicles are located deep in defender territory. When the Attackers have taken control of the vehicle, they must then take it back down to the attacker territory. Defenders can destroy the vehicle the enemies take the vehicle.

Defending: Major Victory: Enemy fails to capture any Vehicles
Minor Victory: Enemy captures 1 Vehicle
Minor Defeat: To be confirmed, but Defeat when enemy captures both Vehicles
Major Defeat: To be confirmed, but Defeat when enemy captures both Vehicles

Attacking: Major Victory: To be confirmed, but Victory when both Vehicles are captured
Minor Victory: To be confirmed, but Victory when both Vehicles are captured
Minor Defeat: Capture 1 Vehicle, but fail to capture the other.
Major Defeat: Fail to capture any Vehicles

Domination: The final game mode you unlock, and the longest. 1 team Attacks, 1 Defends. Team consists of 4 Platoons, a maasive 128 players. Level required: 8 Time: 30 minutes This is the only game Mode that features Officer In Charge ( see Leadership)
In this game, Attackers attempt to take control of 8 pumps, which will destroy the large station the game is set in. This is extremely difficult to do. I have yet to see it done. After pumps are activated, a "Damage Bar" will appear. This increases as the attackers destroy various implacements. Filling it will result in victory for Attackers

Defending: Major Victory: Enemy fails to secure all pumps, or fill Damage Bar.
                    Minor Victory: To be Confirmed
Minor Defeat: Enemy fills damage bar
Major Defeat: To be confirmed, most likely if enemy takes all pumps

Attacking: Major Victory: To be confirmed, most likely capture all pumps
                         Minor Victory: Fill Damage Bar
                    Minor Defeat: To be confirmed
Major Defeat: Fails to secure all pumps, or fill Damage Bar.

9)Leadership
One of the revolutionary new features about MAG is the Leadership system. There are 3 different types of Leaders: Squad Leaders, Platoon Leaders, and Officer In Charge. One of the main abilities of Leaders are the ability to call in Tactical Strikes and issue FRAGOS. They also give bonuses to any players around them. Each level of Leadership gives extra bonuses. Attackers can only call in strikes when Defending Air Defense is destroyed. After calling in a strike, you must wait for Strike Cooldown to refill before any Leaders in your squad in your sister squad can call in a strike, and then there's an individual cooldown before you can call in another strike of the same type. As far as I can see, positions usually go to people with higher xp, but more Leadership Points usually helps.

FRAGO: FRAGO is a way for a Squad Leader to tell the people in his Squad what to do. Do this by pressing and holding Down on the Directional pad, then centring the Crosshairs on the Implacement or Objective of your choice. Press R1 to activate the FRAGO. You will gain double xp while near a FRAGO. Only Squad Leaders can issue FRAGOs.

Squad Leader: A leader of 8 Players. The only one able to issue FRAGOS, but can only call in relitively weak and basic strikes as a result. Level Required: 15

Strikes: Attacking: Cluster Bomb: A simple Airstrike
                               UAV: Shows enemy Locations

Defending: Mortar Strike: A simple strike to attack Personnel
Guided Artillery: A strike intended for Vehicles

Bonuses: 1) Move faster
                 2) Increased Gas Resistance
                 3) Downed Team-Mates last longer
                 4) Faster Reloads

Platoon Leader: In charge of 4 Squads, or 32 Players. They have better Bonuses and Tactical Strikes than Squad Leaders. Leadership Points required: 100

Strikes: Attacking: Precision Strike: A strike used to take out buildings.
Strafing Run: 3 Planes attack an area with Machine Guns

Defending: Gas Bombardment: Send a shell that emits a large Poison Gas Cloud
Sensor Sweep: Shows enemies near objects like Bunkers and AAAs

Bonuses: 1) Increased Explosive Resistance
                 2) Increased Shot-Detection Range
                 3) Automatically repairs the bunker/Vehicle the PL is in
                 4) Decreased Explosives Arm/Disarm time

Officer in Charge (OIC): The leader of the entire team. Only available in Domination matches. Best Bonuses and Strikes. Once you unlock it, it's still very hard to actually be made one in game. Leadership Points Required: 350

Strikes:Both Attackers and Defenders have access to the same Strikes:
Satellite Sweep: Reveals all enemy locations on the map.
Signal Jamming: Stops enemy from being able to use Large Map, call in strikes, FRAGO and in-game chat
Blockade(Attack)/Rapid Redeploy(Defend): Blockade slows Defenders Respawn time, while RRD makes them spawn faster.
Tactical Refresh: Refreshes Tactical Strike Cooldown

Bonuses: 1) Increased Armour Resistance
                 2) Invisible to Mention Sensors at all speeds
                 3) Team-Mates atomatically Heal

10) Tactical Implacements
These are special buidings or objects that are used to help secure Victory. They are only available on Domination and Accuisition. All can be destroyed and repaired.

Attacking: The only thing attackers can use are Armour Personnel Carriers (APCs/Vehicles). They are a spawn point, and larger and more powerful that Defender APCs, but slower. In a way, there is a 2nd, a Helicopter. It has a useable turret, and a Spawn Point, but is staionary and only available when Defender AAA is down.

Defending: Bunker: A forward camp and Spawn Point. Has a usuable turret. Entering will heal you and refill ammo.
APC: Lighter and faster than attacker APC. Not a Spawn Point.
Air Denfense(AAA): Automatically destroys enemy Aircraft, including Planes used for Tactical Strikes. Destroying it means enemy can call in Strikes, and parachute in, as well as a Helicopter, depending on Squads and Platoons.
Mortar Battery: Used for Strikes that involve a physical shell ie. Artillery and Gas.
Sensor Array: Used for electrical strikes, like Sensor Jamming.
Motor Pool: A place where APCs spawn.
