I am currently at the part where I am to find slate. Well I found him but now I am fighting this huge water creacher and I only have 5 fire bombs. What is the trick? Can any one help me?

I know what you mean, I've been stuck here since May also!! So I purchased
The walkthru and guess what the answer they gave does not work so I spent
$15.00 for nothing. I've tried their answer at leat 20 times and it does
Not work !!! Games are supose to be fun but are not when you get stuck and
Since their is no help, you get mad and then loose all intrest in it.
I'll be looking for the answer too !!!!!!!!

When you have the flamethrower let the dragon thing snap at you over a crack with the gas coming out then shoot the fire at the crack and it will blow up in his face but watch out he will bite sooo get out of the way

I will put davisters answer a bit simpler,

When you are walking alongside the lake, before you are fighting the creature, watch the floor and you will see three glowing holes spaced out in a line, one of them will be smoking more than the other two, remember these holes. The aim is to get the gas from the holes in the floor to blow up in it's face, if you use the flamethrower on the holes, it take about 2 seconds to bloow up the gas, or if you have the fireballs, as soon as the fireball hits the hole it will blow up, when you begin to fight the creature it will snap at you, when it does, shoot the flamethrower at the smoke/gas coming out of one of the holes, it should hurt the creature(Or you can use the fire balls instead) the holes take it in turns to Spirt gas, so move to the next one straight after, then do the same again and again, eventually it will throw boulders at you, dive out of the way of them, you need luck to avoid them I think, when it thows spikes at you(I know, Scary) you can simply step between them, keep using the gas from the holes, and after a whole lotta luck, it should die. There is some 'Ammo' right to the left where you came in, you should walk through some just before battling the creature too. Good Luck.

Just keep gong back and forth to all three of them after you shoot one the next will start to smoke again and so on just look for the one thats smoking and shoot it when he snaps at you and you can jump over the tenticales just try to dodge the rock
