I only got the game at christmas and I finnished the battle machine thing in career and then I got the showdown to the right of battle machines on the map and dominated it after that I had unlocked the drag king challenge...
Do I have to dominate all the events to actually race the actual drag king?
...
...
Also I use the evo 10 for my drags and the engine starts to blow up nearing the end of the race could some one tell me how to prevent this

Alright, with the Drag King, yes you can face them at any time, but unless you have used the code which unlocks everything, you'll have to go through the Rogue Speed races as well. However you will defintely need a better drag car than an Evo X. I personally used a Ford GT with all Stage 4 parts (unlockallthings) and that absolutely thrashed them. They aren't really all that great and in fact they are all quite easy to beat. Just as a quick tip for you, these are the best cars for each mode. You don't have to go with these, but this is just my opinion. If you're stuck for money, just keep dominating races.

Grip: Porsche 911 Turbo or you can use your Evo X, just switch the mode.
Drag: Ford GT
Drift: M3 E92
Speed: Skyline R34 GTR

You need to dominate the bit where it says karol monroe. Iht gives you one event and then once you have done that you get to vee karol herself.there are three events and the karol

I find the best car for drags (espicially the drag king) is as nfsgod told me the shelby gt500 mustang OR I have a porsche 911 gt2 that has 1044 bhp with stage 4 parts
