Profile | |_____________________________________________________________________________| Name : HWOARANG Fighting Style : Tae Kwon Do Nationality : Korean Age : 21 Tae Kwon Do ace and rival of Jin Kazama, Hwoarang. Hwoarang was taken into custody by the South Korean military during the last round of the King of Iron Fist Tournament 4, keeping him from his long awaited fight with rival Jin Kazama. Hwoarang was taken to the Korean embassy where he was brought before the ambassador. "You have received an official pardon granting you immunity from charges related to this incident. Also, we have received urgent military papers addressed to you. Please read them immediately!" After reading the papers Hwoarang stood up abruptly. "I can't believe it. Are you sure this is correct?" Two months later, Hwoarang finishes his military service. With nothing holding him back, Hwoarang is free to pursue a confrontation with Jin Kazama. _____________________________________________________________________________ | | | 2. Intro | |_____________________________________________________________________________| Hey there...this is my FAQ on Hwoarang, since this is my first FAQ I ask of you to E-mail me on [email protected] with your opinion on this FAQ. If you're interested then read on I'm not really a tekken fanatic but I love playing the game... my favorite character is Hwoarang and that is why I'm making this FAQ... For me, Hwoarang is one of the coolest characters in Tekken because he's got the launchers (for juggling), he's got the attacks that can be linked together (for juggling) and not to mention his really cool appearance. I think he grew stronger in Tekken 5 because he's got more attacks (for juggling). I hope this FAQ will be useful to you in learning to play as Hwoarang. Now have fun people... Useful Moves: 3~4: I usually use this move against low attacks because Hwoarang isn't on the ground when he does this move, because of this the low attack misses Hwoarang and he hits the opponent with good damage. f * d [df]4: I use this move when the opponent is blocking down because he is expecting me to do a low attack...I do this because the attack given can hit down but can only be blocked up...aside from this it is a launcher so you can continue it with some of the jugglers given. d+4 4: this move has a lot of advantages... one way is that when it is blocked the opponent gets pushed away so you won't be left vulnerable. Another way is that if the opponent doesn't block the first hit but blocks the second hit, some of his life gets chipped off by the first hit and he gets push back by the second hit and the best advantage of this move is that it is a launcher which has combos that do 60+ damage. This is one of the better moves of Hwoarang in my opinion. db+4 4: I love this move because it hits low and then high very quickly making it a very useful for hitting just for hitting and a good wall hitting technique if you time it when they're about to stand up. Aside from this, it does decent damage and a good follow up when you your opponent down. uf+3 4 3: This is a very useful attack to close distances between you and your opponent, aside from this it is a very good juggle ending and does decent damage RFF f f+3: One thing I hate is when people don't want to get up, that's when this move becomes useful...this move is better than Dynamite Heel because it's faster than Dynamite Heel. This also adds a nice 22 as a follow up to jugglers that get you into RFF. SS+4: I use this move to evade attacks will hitting the opponent, this can also be followed by d/b+4,4 if they do the splits as you hit them. f f+4: I use this move to damage them (which is kinda big),confuse them, and then hit them again when they're facing the other way...enough said df+3+4: Love this move as a juggle finisher, it does big damage and you can't escape it I also use it when people think that they can f f+2 I like this grapple because you go forward when you use it and it does good damage. That's all for this move. df+3 3: This move rocks because it is the strongest launcher (aside from the Machine Gun Kicks which doesn't really work because it is easy to block),anyway use this only when the opponent least expects it because it'll be to predictable if you just keep doing it just for the sake of launching because it hits High on both kicks so it is to block the second one which is the kick that actually launches. The trick in using this launcher is to hit them when the opponents back is turned to you... just as they try to turn around kick him/her and then he's launched...This is a strong launcher but don't use it too much. uf+4 4 4: this is kinda good because it hits high to low and can get you into right flamingo stance or right stance, not to mention decent damage. b b+4 4 4: This move can useful because he does the move three times and people always think that when he does it the first time he won't do nothing no more, another good thing is that you go back when you enter the command which could evade some moves and hit them with the three kicks. Character specific strategies: NOTE: I only mention those characters who need mentioning here and assume the players are really skilled Xiaoyu: i'm doing this character first because she's fast, irritating and hard to hit... anyway the thing with her is that she can hide from Hwoarang's high kicks by doing phoenix stance and can counter hit you or even juggle you which hurts more... the thing you should do here is to hit here with the sky rocket (f * d [df]4) or the other version of sky rocket (f * [df]4)... afer you hit her with these moves you can continue it with a juggle (in the juggles mentioned above the best juggler to use on Xiaoyu is the "3~4 df+3+4" juggler which does 65 damage and is a sure hit on Xiaoyu). Xiaoyu has a move called shooting star wherein she jumps to you and kicks you a lot...what you need to do here is to block so that she goes into rain dance stance...and when she is in rain dance launch her with the df+3 3 move and continue it with a juggler (in the juggles mentioned above the best juggler to use on Xiaoyu is the "123 1 df+3+4" juggler which does 63 damage and is a sure hit on Xiaoyu). Aside from this you should attack down as much as possible because Xiaoyu hides down...the best moves for hitting down are: SS+4, db+4 4, d+4 4 (continue with juggler), f * d [df]4 (continue with juggler),f * [df]4 (continue with juggler). Anyway...that's it for Xiaoyu. Asuka: She's got Launchers, Sweeps, Jugglers...hits down and up and has a large chest... She's Asuka! The only thing I can say with her is that you shouldn't be on the defensive with her or with anybody. Use Hwoarang's power to keep her in the air or keep her blocking while hitting down and then up and then down and then up and so on and so forth (she's bound to get hit right?). Another thing I don't like about Asuka is that when she grapples you, she looks like she's dancing with you so I get mesmerized and I'm not able to think which button to press to escape. Actually that's all you need to know when fighting Asuka (just keep the pressure :P) King: Not that this strategy is for Hwoarang only but the thing you should learn while fighting King is the buttons you need to press to escape the grapples of King (Those are the stronger attacks of King anyway). If the player doesn't use grapples then do the things I said when fighting Asuka written above. That's all for King Yoshimitsu: Yoshimitsu is irritating to fight mainly because he flys, teleports, spins, kills himself (not that killing himself is bad for me), heals... Yoshimitsu can do a lot of things other characters can do and he sounds funny (in my opinion). Yoshimitsu isn't quite a threat if used by the CPU but in the hands of an experienced player he could be deadly. When fighting him use evasive moves like "b b+4 4 4" to evade his sword attacks (which are apparently unblockable) and then strike back at him and if he's doing the flea or is flying do the "df+3+4" mid-air grapple to knock him out of the air. Aside from this that's all I can say. Craig Marduk: This guy is tough to fight...this guy can juggle, smack and tackle you the one disadvantage he has is his speed... he would have been one of the best if he wasn't so blurdy slow. Anyway it's best to take advantage of his poor speed with your speed but don't underestimate him just because he's slow... Marduk has a special tackle move that hurts if you keep getting hit. Before even trying to fight him try to learn how to break it, memorize his movements when he presses this or that. Another thing to watch out for is his juggles...if you get launched you can do two things: die and then try again or pray he makes a mistake. Anyway...keep the pressure and you'll be fine unless of course he counters you...you'll have to break the tackle and then hit him more. That's all... _____________________________________________________________________________ | | | 6.Customizations | |_____________________________________________________________________________| Before I start with the customizations here are the outfits appearance....
