Conculsion ( MK070 ) 0====================================================================================0 I. Introduction ( MK001 ) a. Author Intro. ( MK002 ) Well hello and welcome to my first ever FAQ. I am postive that you will enjoy reading this FAQ and you will also learn alot about Mortal Kombat : Deception wether it's the combantion's for the tricky fatalities or wether it's some of the Codes or Secrets from the game. Whatever it is I'm sure you will enjoy reading this FAQ and have fun whilst doing so. Now about how I came across this game. Well I first saw an add in a magazine about Mortal Kombat : Shaolin Monks. I liked the screenshots and it sounded good so being the computer nerd that I am, I searched it on the internet. I read heaps about it and the more I read the more I liked it. I then decided that I was going to get it and the following day I would pre-order it so that I get my reserved copy when it comes out. I did a bit more resarching and found out that there are more Mortal Kombat games in the series so I did a bit more resarch and then I decided that tommorow I would go and get Mortal Kombat : Deciption down at my local videogame shop. Tommorow morning came and I went down to my local video game shop and picked my own copy up. I went home, played it, loved it and played some more. The following day I took it over to my mates house and we played it having a ball of fun. Throughout the week I continued to play MK: D and after that week I decided that I would finally create my very own FAQ. I was going to base my FAQ on the Fatalites and the Hara-Kiri moves but there is such more to the game so I am including a stack more as there is heaps in the game. Enjoy. b. Storyline ( MK007 ) " Following in the footsteps of the Deadly Alliance, the story continues Long before Liu Kang had won the Mortal Kombat Tournament in Earthrealm, Shujinko had begun his quest to retrieve the Kamidogu for the Elder Gods... Now an ancient evil has returned from beyond death and threatens the very existence of the realms. Will the champion of the Elder Gods have the power to defeat this threat borne of deception? Only you can determine the future of the realms." The above is only a very basic version of MK : D. It goes into alot more detail than that but telling you would be stupid and pointless. Besides, it's way more than to find out for yourself. b. Fighting Styles ( MK009 ) Each MK : D Character has two hand-to-hand fighting styles as well as one weapon style. These styles can be changed throughout the course of a match and a combo can be started in one style and be finished in another style to allow infinte numbers of different combos. In the corner of the screen a number and a percentage will be displayed. The number displays how many hits the combo was and the percentage shows the total amount of damage. As said before each character has two hand-to-hand fighting styles as well as one weapon style. By pressing the Change Style Button ( L1 on Defualt ) your character will cycle through his/her styles. e. Weapon and Hand-to-Hand Moves ( MK010 ) As I said before, each character in MK : D has two hand-to-hand fighting styles as well as one weapon style. The hand-to-hand styles each have around a proximally 25-30 moves and the weapon styles have around a proximally 15-20 moves. Each fighting style has their own moves which means there is a fair few moves. The weapons are the same from MK : Deadly Alliance ( thanks to BlackBelt 1 for this ) and when you have a certain weapon the fighting style will change to accompany that specific weapon. f. Play Modes ( MK011 ) ------------- Kombat ------------- In Kombat or Arcade Mode you face off against the CPU ( Computer ) and earn Kurrency along the way which can be spent in the Krypt. Once you beat Kombat Mode you unlock the characters ( that you beat it with ) ending. ------------- Konquest ------------- Konquest mode is only single player and it sees the player following a guy named Shujinko. It follows his quest as he grows, learns many of the fighting arts, and eventually becomes an old man. This is where alot of the game's unlockables can be found. ------------- Chess Kombat ------------- Chess Kombat is a little mini-game which sees you picking five characters that each represent pieces of the chess board. The pieces are Leader, Champion, Sorcerer, Shifter and Grunt. ------------- Puzzle Kombat ------------- Puzzle Kombat is another mini-game which sees the characters battling it out. You begin with only six characters at first and then there are another six to be unlocked. You choose a character to represent yourself and then you battle it out. g. Codes and Secrets ( MK012 ) -- Stage Select -- When choosing your fighter, hold down the R1 button to be able to select the stage you will fight on. This does not work in Arcade or Chess modes. 0====================================================================================0 III. Main Character Fatalities and Hara-Kiri Moves ( MK013 ) Each character has two fatality moves as well as one Hara-Kiri move. For the fatalites to work you will have to be in the correct postion wether it's Far, Close or within Sweeping Distance. ( MK066 ) This section is for those people that want to write their own FAQ and then submit it to GameFaq's. First go to notepad which is found under accessories in the start menu. This is given to Microsoft users so if you don't have it you can always download one. Once you have opened notepad begin your FAQ. I suggest some ASCII art, make it more eye-catchy and make more people want to read. Anyway you don't have to. Then once you've typed it all head over to Gamefaq's. If you have already registered log in. If you havn't registered, in the upper left hand corner there should be a login box. Click on Sign me Up, then give them your details and you should be a memember. Then when your a memember click contribute at the top of the page. A page called Contributor Central should come up. Go down and click submit a file. Type in the game and the system it's for and then a list of games will come up. Click on the one that you want and type in the info. for your FAQ., Title, Type of FAQ., Version etc. When you have done that click upload file. The go to where you saved your FAQ. on your computer and double click on it. Give CJayC the runner of the site any side notes and then upload your file. It's in!! Yay!! Just wait a minute. First you want to see if it's in or if it's been rejected. Go to Contributor central, and click contribution status. If it's rejected, add some more info. or whatever and try again. c. What's Next for Me? ( MK067 ) What's next for me? Well what is next? One thing for sure is that I am going to continue writing FAQ's for myself as well as for you the reader. I will be doing a Character FAQ for "WWE Smackdown Here Comes the Pain." I am going to be doing one for Tajiri. The FAQ will cover all his moves as well as a tiny bit more. Then after that I am going to be doing a FAQ for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Not you normal FAQ but a FAQ full of made-up missions to waste your time on. Then after that I'm not quite sure what I'll do but those two FAQ's will keep me busy for at least a month and a half. d. Version History ( MK068 ) Version 0.5 - 30th of September - Today I began the FAQ. I completed up to section " IV. Secret Character Fatalites and Hara-Kiri Moves." Version 1.0 - 1st of October - Today I completed up to the Non-related section and fixed up a few errors. Version 1.5 - 2nd of October - Yay!! Today I finished the Guide. Yay!! I also read through it fixing up errors. I have also posted my Guide on GameFaq's and Super Cheat's today. I will be posting my FAQ on a few more sites as well maybe in a few days time. f. It's not one of the longest FAQ's but I'm proud of what I've done. I will be updating this FAQ if there are MAJOR changes to the guide. I still don't have any ASCII art at the top of the FAQ so remember 'bout that and goodbye. It's been fun : ) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------- THE END --------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 0====================================================================================0
