---------------------------- Complete Enemy Guide -----------------------------
By Kholde_stare             ----------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Version info:

       Version 1.20 -June 21 2006-Included my own weapon preference in general,
     and for each enemy. Added www.supercheats.com to approved.

       Version 1.10 -June 20 2006-Fixed a lot of the spelling errors, and I
     added www.neoseeker.com to the approved site list.

       Version 1.00 -June 1 2006-Finished pretty much the whole thing, did some
     online testing, all wyverns, dromes and "Minions", aligned everything.

       Version 0.20 -April 19 2006-First started the guide, added in
     copyright info, contact info, some of the wyverns/dromes attacks/movements
     etc. also included a table of contents/plan for the rest of the guide.
     Added in the credits and a FAQ section for later.
________________________________________________________________________________

 This is my first FAQ/guide of any sort, so don't be surprised if it really
  sucks, but bear with me, it still has all the information I planned it to
  have (at least it will when it's done).

        Contact Information:
   If you have any suggestions or corrections, you can e-mail me at
   [email protected]. I'm currently playing, and can help anyone who
   needs it, just email a time and place.

   Because people wont stop asking what I use on my character/what HR I am,
   I will tell everyone right now, I am HR20, I'm not going to list everything
   I have, just my personal favourites, for armor, I usually wear Auroros
   and my most used weapon would be RDS, BDS or DDU.
       -------------------------------------------------------------------
   All my testing was done offline, so if something happens differently online
   please contact me so I can update it in the next version. In this FAQ,
   I used some terms for specific occurances, here is a list of what I have
   used so far: (I will add more terms upon request)

   -Lethal Attack-It means that the attack can be a one hit kill depending on
    your armor.

   Anything with a *(star) beside it means that I havn't tested it yet, if
   someone provides the information via e-mail before I get around to testing
   it myself, they will be specifically mentioned in the credits for whatever
   they corrected/added to the FAQ.

   This guide was made to tell you exactly how each monster attacks and any
   other action all the monsters may happen to do, such as jump, fly or
   burrow, and whether or not the attck is blockable. Here is a rough outline
   of how the layout works-

           --------------------
            XIq. Random Wyvern -suggested weapon type-(Purely personal choice,
           -------------------- suggestion for offline/solo)
       A description of some sort, identifying the enemy in some way, and
       usualy saying something about its attacks, and whether they have
       any unique form of attacking (underground etc.)
      -----------------
       From the ground
      -----------------
       -First one will be whatever it does to get to any secondary form of
        attacking (If any)
       -If an attack is blockable, it will have ++ at the end ex. Roar ++
        and if it's more of an action than an attack, it will be like this
        at the end ##. Unblockable attacks will have !!.
       -After that it will list anything the monster does from the ground
       -Status/special effects are listed in brackets to the side or below
      --------------
       From the air
      --------------
       -Any action that is initiated after the wyvern takes flight
        or burrows etc.
       -Includes flying away to another area
       --------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------  Wyverns ------------------------------------
                                  ----------
            Of course anyone who has played the game should know what it
          means to be a wyvern, but for those of you that can't tell the
          difference between a dragon and a wyvern, a wyvern only has
          two legs, and wings where arms would be, and dragons have
          four legs, and usualy wings as well. All wyverns, as far as I know,
          will step on you and do damage, you can block it too, I didn't want
          to put in stepping damage for every wyvern, not my fault I'm lazy...

          --------------
           Ia. Rathalos -Greatsword-
          --------------
       Ahh, the Rathalos, commonly known as "Los", a tough opponent
       for the unskilled. He has a myriad of attacks that are used
       from both land and air, they are as follows:
        -----------------
         From the ground
        -----------------
            -Fly up ##
            -Roar ++
            -Shoot a single fireball ++
            -Charge (Trip at the end) ++
            -Jump backward and shoot a fire ball ++
            -Jump foreward with claws out ++
            -Bite ++
            -Tail whip ++
           --------------
            From the Air
           --------------
            -Hover and shoot three consecutive fireballs ++
            -Hover and claw at you (causes poison and KO status) ++
            -Fly around current area and swoop down with claws ++
            -Land right away ##
            -Fly away ##
          ---------------------------------------------------------------------

          -------------
           Ib. Rathian -Greatsword-
          -------------
       The female counterpart of the Rathalos, usualy refered to as an "Ian",
       its not as strong, and dies faster...It doesn't have as many attacks
       either. (Mostly ground based, so you get more hits in faster so it SEEMS
       weaker-Pointed out by Roarcfin_Turin)
        -----------------
         From the ground
        -----------------
         -Fly up ##
         -Roar ++
         -Shoot a single fireball ++
         -Shoot three consecutive fireballs ++
         -Bite ++
         -Tail Whip ++
         -Jump backwards (No fireball) ##
         -Backflip (lethal attack, causes poison status) ++
         -Charge (Trip at end, sometimes she will stop and turn and charge
          again right away) ++
        --------------
         From the Air
        --------------
         -Land right away ##
         -Fly away ##
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          -----------------
           Ic. Yian Kut-Ku -Hammer-
          -----------------
       The Yian Kut-Ku, "Kut-Ku" or "YKK" as he is known online. A bird-like
       wyvern, although it is small and weak, it is fast so it gets
       many attacks in to really start doing some damage if you
       aren't careful.
        -----------------
         From the Ground
        -----------------
         -Fly up ##
         -Short range fire breath ++
         -Charge (Trip at end) when angry, Charge has fire breath as well ++
         -Beak Thrusts ++
         -Jump Backwards ##
         -Jump forward Beak Thrusts ++
         -Rapid Fire breath ++
         -Bite ++
         -Tail Whip ++
        --------------
         From the Air
        --------------
         -Land right away ##
         -Fly away ##
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          --------------
           Id. Gypceros -Lance-
          --------------
       Like the Yian Kut-Ku in many ways, the Gypceros, or "Gyp", has similar
       attacks and such, but is bigger, and has poison instead of fire. As most
       players are already aware, fire totally owns him/her/it?.
        -----------------
         From the Ground
        -----------------
         -Fly up ##
         -Short range poison breath (Causes poison status) ++

         -Charge (Always has poison breath, Ends in Bite or Beak Thrusts
          or nothing) ++
         -"Chicken run" (Ends in bite or Flying up) ++
         -Beak Thrusts (May steal an Item) ++
         -Feign Death (Lethal attack, uses when near death) ++
         -Flash (Causes KO status) ++
         -Jump foreward with claws ++

          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          -----------
           Ie. Khezu -Gun or Lance-
          -----------
       Ugh..Khezu, the most horrible (looking) wyvern in the game in my
       opinion. As far as I know there is nothing short for Khezu,
       though I guess you could call him "Khez", but what is the point
       in cutting off one letter, considering the u is above the z.
        -----------------
         From the Ground
        -----------------
         -Fly up (Goes on cave ceilings) ##
         -Bite ++
         -Leap ++
         -Spread Lightning (Lethal at close range, Causes stun status) !!
         -Shell Lightning ++
         -Head Thrust ++
         -Tail Whip ++
         -Roar ++
         -Sneak and Leap (wan't sure what to call it) ++

         From the Air/Ceiling
        ----------------------
         -Fly away
        =======Ceiling=======
         -Drop down ++
         -Hang down and drip acid ++
         -Go to back of cave to escape ##

          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          --------------
           If. Plesioth -Greatsword or Gun-
          --------------
       Nice 'lil "Ples", or Plesioth for those who prefer the long name.
       Anyone else notice how close it's name is to plesiosaur? The ancient
       fish from the age of dinosaurs, which happens to be what the loch ness
       monster is supposed to look like by the way.(sorry for the rambling)
        -----------------
         From the Ground
        -----------------
         -Jump into water (always from same spot) ##
         -Tail Whip ++
         -Body Slam ++
         -Water Jet !!
        ----------------
         From the Water
        ----------------
         -Jump from water and spray water (Vertically or horizontally) !!
         -Leap/Fly across platform (offline only, causes sleep status) !!
         -Swim to back of cave (offline only) ##
          *I found out that during the piscine liver quests, there is a
           Plesioth in the cavern, so anything that says offline also applies*
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          ----------------
           Ig. Cephadrome -Lance or Greatsword-
          ----------------
       Cephadrome, known as "Ceph" sometimes, but that could be mistaken for a
       Cephalos very easily. It is essentially a sand shark. I know it has Drome
       in it's name, but it is clearly a Wyvern as it has two legs and wings
       instead of arms, also it shows up on the map as a Wyvern shape.
        -----------------
         From the Ground
        -----------------
         -Dive underground ##
         -Body Slam ++
         -Tail Whip (Always to the left) ++
         -Sand Jet ++
         -Bite ++
        ------------------
         From Underground
        ------------------
         -Jump up and Shoot sand ++
         -Jump out and move across the ground ++
         -Jump and glide (Causes stun status) ++
         -"Fin Attack"(When the fin hits you when its"swimming") ++
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          --------------
           Ih. Monoblos -Greatsword-
          --------------
       The Monoblos, pretty much the "boss of the game" for offline mode, he
       isn't that tough, and is quite similar to Diablos in many ways.
       Not much to say about him, and he has his own faq, so if you want info
       on him just go to that one.
        -----------------
         From the Ground
        -----------------
         -Burrow ##
         -Charge (Slide at the end) ++
         -Horn Flip (Sometimes at end of Charge) ++
         -Horn Thrust(Sometimes at end of Charge) ++
         -Tail Whip ++
         -Tail Swing (When it doesn't move) ++
         -Body Slam ++
         -Bite ++
         -Roar ++
        ------------------
         From Underground
        ------------------
         -Burst up (potentially lethal) ++
         -Flee area ##
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          -------------
           Ii. Diablos -Greatsword-
          -------------
       Seeing as you only have to type online, people don't get mixed up when
       saying "Blos", because Monoblos if offline only, and is the only one you
       might get confused with. According to the game Monoblos is a sub-species
       of Diablos, no wonder they have so much in common.
        -----------------
         From the Ground
        -----------------
         -Burrow ##
         -Charge (Slide at end) ++

         -Horn Thrust(Sometimes at end of Charge) ++
         -Tail Whip ++

          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          -------------
           Ij. Gravios -Lance-
          -------------
       Good 'ol Gravios, really fun if you are with a skilled group, or even
       if you're playing offline. "Grav" is definitely my favourite wyvern, and
       not just because he gives noobs their "Just desserts" either.

         -Fire Beam (Lethal Attack) !!

          --------------
           Ik. Basarios -Lance-

       Basarios, or in lamens terms, "Bas" is basically a rock, they are
       young gravios', better kill them before they can grow up.

     Seeing as the Dragons and Kirin are all online only, and the fact that
     that they all have their own FAQs, I'm not going to bother with them in
     this FAQ. But for the record, I'm pretty sure all of Kirin's attacks are
     blockable if you posistion yourself right.

                                 ------------
            The Dromes are of course, just the alpha monsters of packs
          of "Prey", they come in three types, one for each kind of raptor.
          The velocidrome isn't that difficult, but the Iodrome is a real
          S.O.B. when it comes to HR 13+ quests, even the offline one is
          tough, although poison negated really helps if you aren't quite
          good at the game yet. Dromes don't have nearly as many different
          attacks than Wyverns, but are formidable none the less.

          -------------------
           IIIa. Velocidrome -Sword and shield or Duals-
          -------------------
       The Velocidrome, "Vdrome" for short, is incredibly easy, but the first
       time you fight one it can be hard. This might give you that small edge
       you need if you have trouble first time playing.

           IIIb. Gendrome -Sword and shield or Duals-
          ----------------
       Gendrome, short hand is "Gdrome", tougher than Velocidrome, but not too
       difficult, has stun, but usually by the time you get far enough to fight
       them, no raptor will even get an attack in.
        ---------
         Actions
        ---------
         -Jump attack (Sends you flying, causes stun status) ++

          ---------------
           IIIc. Iodrome -Sword and shield or Duals-
          ---------------
       The most annoying of the three, has one more attack (as far as I know)
       Luckily it's only way to poison you is with it's poison breath.

                                 The "Minions"
                                ---------------

            The "Minions" consist of every enemy that isn't a wyvern or unique
          monster, most of which only have one attack, and I think all of them
          are blockable too. Some are aggresive, and attack on sight, but most
          of them wont do anything until disturbed, and some will even run away
          when there's danger.

          ---------------
           IVa. Mosswine -Anything-
          ---------------
       Mosswine, basically a pig, that rams you when it's angry, even if it was
       hit by a wyvern, it'll go after you.
        ---------
         Actions
        ---------
         -Sniff the ground (Means there's mushrooms) ##
         -Charge ++
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          ----------------
           IVb. Bullfango -Anything-
          ----------------
       You'll have a hard time finding someone who likes these things, they
       annoy everyone, whether you're on carry quest, or a slaying quest,
       they ram you for no reason.
        ---------
         Actions
        ---------
         -Charge (Sends you flying) ++
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          ------------
           IVc. Kelbi -Anything-
          ------------
       Easy to kill, most weapons will kill them in one hit, and they are not
       very strong. They usually run away when hit and wont do anything
       unless provoked.
        ---------
         Actions
        ---------
         -Charge ++
         -Run away ##
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          ---------------
           IVd. Aptonoth -Anything-
          ---------------
       Aptonoth, the first monster you encounter if you start offline, great for
       stocking up on raw meat. Wont do anything unless attacked.
        ---------
         Actions
        ---------
         -Tail swing ++
         -Run away ##
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          --------------
           IVe. Apceros -Anything-
          --------------
       Apceros, I laughed so hard when I read Akubarix's supposed conversation
       that they have for some reason, they make everyone mad, and will attack
       on sight.
        ---------
         Actions
        ---------
         -Head butt ++
         -Tail swing ++
         -Stand on hind legs ##
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          -------------
           IVf. Felyne -Anything-
          -------------
       Felyne, incase you can't tell, is supposed to be like "feline". But I'm
       sure you already knew that. Wont attack unless hit first.
        ---------
         Actions
        ---------
         -Jump and hit you with weapon ++
         -Use sm barrel bomb (Sends you flying) ++
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          -------------
           IVg. Melynx -Anything-
          -------------
       Melynx, these annoying little cats steal your items, at least you can
       get the stuff back if your in forest and hills, desert or swamp
       (I think) Comes after you for no reason.
        ---------
         Actions
        ---------
         -Hit you with paw-on-a-stick (Steal item, always steals felvine 1st) ++
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          -----------------
           IVh. Velociprey -Anything-
          -----------------
      "Vprey", pretty much the easiest aggressive monster in the game, and the
       first one if you start offline.
        ---------
         Actions
        ---------
         -Jump attack (Sends you flying) ++
         -Bite ++
         -Stand there looking stupid ##

          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          --------------
           IVi. Genprey -Anything-
          --------------
       The "Gprey", a personal favourite, stun-negated armor skill helps alot
       when fighting them, Khezu and even Kirin. Like all "Prey" attacks on
       sight.
        ---------
         Actions
        ---------
         -Jump attack (Sends you flying, causes stun status) ++

          -------------
           IVj. Ioprey -Anything-
          -------------
       The most annoying of the three, like the "Idrome" it's only way to poison
       is with it's breath. Once again, attacks on sight.
        ---------
         Actions
        ---------
         -Jump attack (Sends you flying) ++
         -Bite ++

          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          --------------
           IVk. Vespoid -Anything-
          --------------
       One of the more annoying (Have I used that word too much?) monsters in
       the game, the attack on sight and can stun you, they fly around alot too.
       Poison cripples them and almost always leaves something carveable.
        ---------
         Actions
        ---------
         -Dive ++
         -Stinger Thrust (Causes stun status) ++

          ----------------
           IVl. Hornetaur -Anything-
          ----------------
       A bit stronger than vespoid, but poison cripples them just the same.
       attacks on sight but isn't as annoying.(Is that word annoying yet?)
        ---------
         Actions
        ---------
         -Hop ++
         -Hover ##
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

          ---------------
           IVm. Cephalos -Lance or Greatsword-
          ---------------
      "Ceph" as most people know them, are quite easy, like 6 hits with most
       weapons and they're dead. Attacks on sight.
        -----------------
         From the Ground
        -----------------
         -Dive underground ##

   If anyone contributes in anyway at all, I will recognize them here, no
   matter how little their input.

     I would like to give thanks to the following:
 -Roarcfin_Turin, for not only being the only person to take interest, he also
  suggested many things to improve upon my flawed design, including but not
  limited to: the format, whether an attack is blockable and to provide advice
  to the players.
 -Capcom, for making such an awesome game, that for some reason still has a new
  FAQ being made for it.
 -Gamefaqs, for being a great site that helped me become the player I am today.
 -Avalanche, Samurai7 and Zacko for assisting me while I double checked all the
  Wyvern attacks. And DragonRider13, for testing all the "Minions" with me.
