In training mode, go all the way to the part where you have to throw the other player over the pit.

Take the ladder down and go to the post on the other side. Croutch (sp) and L2.

Then get the other player to press L2. The other person should jump up and land on the other one.

Tada! They are now almost fused. It works, i've down it a lot of times.
