To get cool, all you have to do is play each note SLIGHTY after it is on the meter. This works on every stage. On the burger stage, though, it is VERY hard to maintain cool and you will usually go back to good.

For all games a cool ranking is hard to achieve.
Let me show you an example through parappa the rapper 1.

Teacher: Kick! (/)
Parappa: Kick kick kick kick kick ! (/////)
That'll get the cool ranking flashing.
