To hit sixes you don't need to get any sort of batting confidence, the thing you do need is a lil bit of timing, when needing to hit a 6 or 4 hold down the power and the charge button I'm not sure if they are the r1 and L1 buttons or R2 or L2 buttons try them both when the bowler lets go of the ball whilst bowling press the O button if done correctly the batsmen shall charge down the pitch and smash the ball in which ever direction you want the ball to go. Like I said it's all about timing.

it's all about the timing. If you

As they have said, timing is key. I would suggest not using the "six hit" button for the first couple of overs to build confidence and then you can try hitting sixes. A couple of options I have used are if the ball pitches next to the umpire's head on the pitch or just in front you can advance straight down the ground with a "six hit". Another option is the sweep for PS2 you need to aim with the joystick up and slightly right (NE on a compass) and press "six hit". The batsman will often hit this for four or six. Hope this helps!
