Unlock Legend Players

At the 'Game Setup' menu press Circle to bring up the 'Quick Menu'. Go to the Star Icon and press X. This will take you to the 'Unlock Legends Screen'. To activate a Legend just highlight his name and press X. He will now be in the Free Agent Pool and you can sign him to any team with and empty slot.

Mastering the Alley-Oop:

One Player Mode: Wait for the center (Shaq for example) to get between his man and the basket, and press L2 and the symbol above his head (should be a triangle)and watch as he goes up and grabs the ball to slam it home!

Two Player Mode: Both players on the same team, while controling both players, have the passer behind the three point arch and from the opposite side of the court the dunking player cuts to the lane. Throw the pass as the "dunker" is entering the paint, the showtime dunks you get are amazing.

In create new player option, type in "FREE" for first name, and "THROWS"

for last name to unlock Moses Malone.

If you want to unlock superstars very easy, first create a player and put all of his stats to 99 and then put him on the roster of your team that your playing with and then put him in your starting line up.

Then he will almost never miss a shot and he will steal the ball very easily, and then it will be super easy to get all of the superstars!!!
