The following cheats and tips will help you to progress in the game.

Make sure you take advantage of Oatchi the dog whenever possible. For example, ride him to avoid having a huge crowd of easy-to-target Pikmin trailing you. Oatchi can also sniff out treasure, swim across water, knock high-up objects down, and even carry massive amounts of weight.

Time inside caves passes significantly slower in Pikmin 4. The day won't end while you're inside a cave. In Pikmin 4 caves function as puzzles to solve. Remember also that there isn't a day limit in the main campaign of Pikmin 4, so you can take your time playing. Take as many days as you need to explore everything to the max.

In Pikmon 4 enemies are everywhere and they are a danger to you, your Pikmon, and Orachi the dog. The best strategy therefore is to blitz every enemy you see with as many Pikmin as you can so that you clear out the enemies before sending in you Pikmon to collect treasure. Remember that enemies respawn in caves once you 100% complete the cave and return.

A new mechanic in Pikmin 4 is the ability to rewind time which you can take advantage of to prevent the loss of your Pikmin. For example, if you get blindsided by a huge Bulborg that rolled over 60 of your Pikmin at once you can simply rewind that cave and you'll have all your Pikmin back.

The most important thing when playing Pikmin games is to never get attached to your Pikmin. During the course of a playthrough hundreds of Pikmin will die, you need to keep in mind that this is normal for these games and not get distressed about it.
