PGA Tour '97 is just another golf game with the same hard-to-use swing controls, and so-so graphics. This game would stand the best chance in some archive, and there is a bad choice of golfers and courses. Nothing seems to work right, and if I hadn't gotten it over a dispute at a store, I probably wouldn't have it.
The graphics are not very good, and PlayStation graphics could be pretty good. The greens, the faces, and everything else is very blury, and is hard to follow. The whole game is hard to win for the simple reason that it is almost impossible to get a very good view of anything.
The sound effects are pretty much a club hitting a ball and the occasional "ya" on an occasional hole-in-one. The music is little to none, and agian, like in my earlier submission, there is no music list or skip track button. As far as I am concerned, why could you not put on a little extra to sell your product!
This game plays extactly the same as any other golf game I have ever played, old and new. You have an interactive swing metre, and it's a guessing game where it is going to stop. You seem to have little control, and usually the screen is too small, or to distorted to aim very well. The putting grid lines are also hard to follow.
Thsi game does get old fast. I am not a big golf fan, and that is why I may be rating is so low. But how can it have good lastability, you swing, swing, swing--in, Par 3. How boring is that, you need action in videogames (in sports for that matter.) This is one of the most boring games I have ever played!
This game really is bad! I thought it was okay at first, but after a second look and this review, I have found that it really should got to the archives. EA Sports has made many great games in my opinion, but this is not one of them, I would not recomend anyone buying this game, unless you really like golf, I would never get it again!
