World of Warcraft Frequently Asked Questions
By: Christian Willoughby

First off I am making this to help out mostly new people to the game, but I have played this game a lot and will be able to answer most of your questions. If you would like to reply to this FAQ or if you have a question to ask me that wasnt answered here send me an e-mail at [email protected]. All questions that are e-mailed to me will be answered in the next FAQ I make, which will be much longer and more oriented for veteran players.

The Questions and Answers
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------What is the best class?

I have been asked this question probably a million times and the answer is that there is no best class. The easiest classes are Hunters and Warlocks, and they are the best at pvp, although shadow priests can beat them some. If you ask this question you are probably new and should pick either a hunter or a warlock.

What does it mean to spec?

Once your character reaches level 10 you will get a talent point every time you level. These points can be spent in learning new abilities. To spec means to put all or most of your points into a certain field ( ex. for a priest the choices are shadow, healing, and discipline) One of the fields is usually the best for leveling and another is the best for being in groups while the last is best for defense.

What race should I choose?

Race really doesnt matter much at all. You should just choose whichever is your favorite.

What is pvp?

PvP stands for player versus player. To pvp you can either go to battlegrounds or play on a pvp server. While playing on a pvp server you will be able to attack characters of the other alliance freely when in disputed territories. As I mentioned before, warlocks and hunters and shadow priests are usually best suited for pvp.

What does rp mean?

RP stands for role-playing. To role play you simply create a backstory for your characterand play as if you are really your character. When role playing, never talk about the real world and always include ( and ) when you are speaking in character.

How do I chat?

There are many types of chat in WoW. To guild chat press enter and /g, to do general chat enter and /1a, for party chat enter and /p, to yell enter and /y.

How do I start a guild?

To start a guild you must go to a major city ( ex. Stormwind ) and talk to the guildmaster. From him you can purchase a guild charter for 10 silver. After purchasing the charter you must get 10 people to sign it. This is best done by posting in general chat in a heavily populated area. After you get all the signatures go back to the Guildmaster and register the charter. After forming the guild you can talk to the tabard designer ( located beside the guildmaster ) and crate a guild tabard for 10 gold.

What is the fastest way to level?

I do about 80 % questing a 20% grinding and I leveled pretty fast. But what class you choose has a major impact on the speed of your leveling. Hunters will be easier and faster to level than probably any other class. Mages and Rogues also level fast. Joining a guild can also help you level faster because it helps you find groups for tougher quests easier.

What is an instance?

An instance is a dungeon filled with elite monsters. Elite monsters are tougher than normal and they have better loot than most. To enter an instance you must go through a portal. Instances are a good way to level ,when all the quests you have are too hard just keep going through an instance until you level 2 or 3 times.
