Keep contraband when you die

It's a simple glitch, before the nurse takes all your contraband, simply go into your crafting menu and put your contraband in any of the three slots to keep it and keep that crafting page open until you have been picked up. This also means that you can only keep three of your items anything that is not in the slots and is contraband will be taken off you.
