Start the game and do not choose a stable location to start with. Save the game and run the first days race with quick results. Then CTRL+ALT+DEL and shut down the game. Reload and then bet all your £££ on a highs odds winning horse. Repeat and you can easily have £30-40 million. Then fix your stable, buy all the mod cons.
Best horses, basically repeat the above but prior to buying a horse, if you spend about £1.4 million on a colt or filly and then are disappointed with low stats, again CRTL+ALT+DEL and then don't buy the horse.
