How do I fix it when guest are mad about long lines?

I wondered this, too, until I figured it out on my second profile. When you build an attraction, do NOT automatically put "Normal Path" or whatever it's called, to make it where guests can reach it. First, on the bottom left of the screen, click to button that has trees etched on it. Go to the "Paths" tab. Click on the red path. This is a waiting path, so it will only attach to the waiting square right after building an attraction. Build as long as path as you wish, and when you are done, start the "normal path" so guests can reach it! You should get any complaints about your waiting lines, as long as it is long enough.
