Its because you need to be level 999 to buy a doom cell and golden token.
It could be 999, like the other guy said, but I think it is 200. You don't BUY the 999 things, you earn them. And if you DO buy them, they are things you can't use in battle. (Like upgraids). I saw a 200 level thing (I don't remember where), so I think that the top level is 200, then.

The highest level is actually lvl40 because I'm lvl40 and the exp points to advance is 9999999999
it would probably be lvl 40 cause my dude won't lvl up any higher. i even tried using cheats to lvl up, but it won't wrk anymore.
its level 40 and the level 999 items are used to upgrade your bot and it doesent make them level 999

NO the real highest level is 999 don't care if your friend wont level up, it's not 45, not 40 , it's 999 I played this game for 5 years then I became level 999. I played the game again with cheat the ending level is 999.

The current highest lvl is 45, you can only get to 999 because your using cheats or hacks, and you see people on youtube with 999 because they're hacking.... Duh?
I believe it's lvl 50 because I bought a lvl 50 mech from some random place.
The name of the mech is Guardian V50.
There are 5 models for this mech:
Guardian V9,
Guardian V16,
Guardian V30,
Guardian V40,and
Guardian V50.
There lvls are corresponding to the version number of the mech. This probably settles the war because I havent seen any mech higher than this lvl.

No, for a normal player, the highest level is 45
For a Star Captain, which I got (I didn't use any money, I got Artix points enough to get me Star Captain.) it is 50. Even though you have to get Star Captain to use the elite versions of the House Mech,I can tell you, it is well worth it. Not only that, you get Star Captain perks in other games.
