1.in israel prophets believed in monotheistic yahweism while in the ancient near east they believed in polytheism
For example when moses destroyed the golden calf that the israelites had made for worship moreover elijah killed the 450 prophets of baal and 400 prophets of asherawhereas in the ancient near east they believed in many gos for example ammon re baal and ashera
2.israelites prophets were called and commissioned into the prophetic office wheres prophets in the ancient near east appointed themselves
