Well you just have to keep hitting him and he dies eventually.
Try to lure him to a waypoint and then you will be able to go to town when your life is low, get healed and go back to fight him again. Thats what I did and it made defeating him a lot easier. @_@

The trick is to get him stuck on the stairs. When he is following you you run around a stair case and when he gets stuck use ranged attacks.
