Medieval Dynasty is available on PlayStaton 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Take a look at our cheats and tips to get help in the game.
Medieval Dynasty is a first-person, open world survival and town builder game where you must hunt for food, gather resources to survive, and build a village in the harsh Middle Ages. You take on the role of a young man who has fled from war and wants to take his fate into his own hands. From being alone, inexperienced and poor, you will develop into a master of many skills, a leader of your community and the founder of a dynasty that is meant to last and prosper for generations to come.
Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include why you should create your own food source as quickly as possible and why you should prioritize choosing the Survival Sense from the Skill Tree.
You have a limited inventory and carrying capacity in Medieval Dynasty which can be a hindrance when you are trying to gather wood and stone to build a house. There are though ways in which you can increase the amount of resources you can carry. These include getting a mount, getting the Mule Extraction skill, crafting backpacks, and building a storage building which will enable you to place anything you are not currently using.
One of the first major decisions you will have to make is choosing the location where you are going to start building your village. It is crucial that you select the area carefully as your life and future village can be impacted greatly by where you decide to settle.
If you are new to the game it is recommended that you build your first village across the river from Gostavia and east of Borowo. This is an ideal location as it is a flat area that is next to two roads and nearby there are two established villages. It is also next to a river which gives you easy access to water. Where you decide to build your village is entirely up to you and unless you plan on being totally self-sufficient it is important that you set up fairly close to a village, so you are able to trade goods that you make.
When you begin playing Medieval Dynasty you will have no money which means you will not be able to purchase anything from the markets. It is therefore essential that you begin the game by making tools in order to start farming and raising animals, so you create your own food source. Keep in mind that the prices on even common goods and necessities at markets are expensive so the more self-sufficient your village is the more money you will save.
A good way to make money early in Medieval Dynasty is to make simple tools out of wood and rocks and sell them at the market. Items like shovels and axes can fetch decent prices at the market.
Always make sure you have access to food and water, so you do not starve or die of thirst. A good source of food early in the game is berries which will not only refill your hunger meter but also slightly replenish your thirst. Berries are common and can be found in multiple locations east of the starting city of Gostovia, west of the city across the river, Borowo, and especially north and east of Denica. It is important to remember that berries are seasonal, so it is recommended that you stock up on them during the summer when they are ripe.
A big part of Medieval Dynasty is survival, and you can save yourself a lot of time when you need to gather valuable resources by choosing the Survival Sense skill in tier two as early as possible from the skill tree. The Survival Sense skill will highlight all herbs, mushrooms, and feathers in Inspector mode which will enable you to easily find and gather them.
The bow in Medieval Dynasty is a deadly long-range weapon and the easiest way you can get this early in the game is via Alwin's Quest which has nine objectives you need to complete. To embark on the quest which is also an easy source of money and other rewards you must speak to Alwin who can be found in Gostovia near the starting area. Listed below are the nine objectives:
Step #1:
- Bring Alwin 1 Stick
Step #2:
- Deliver a Waterskin to Matylda
- Hunt Deer and Boar
- Deliver the Leather to Matylda
- Bring the fixed Waterskin back to Alwin
Step #3:
- Deliver 120 coins to Falibor
Step #4:
- Speak with Falibor, Gizela, and Alwin
Step #5:
- Deliver 5 Logs and 1 Wooden Hammer to Alwin
Step #6:

Step #7:
- Score 64 points in Alwin's Archery Challenge
Step #8:

Step #9:

- Deliver the Recurve Bow to Alwin
Littered around the map are plenty of loot points which will grant you free items. These loot points take the form of barrels, sacks, overturned carts, chests, and bandit camps (both abandoned and occupied) so make sure you keep an eye out for them. You will be able to find most of these loot points by searching around waterways and roads. You will find an overturned cart or two near to where you spawn at the start of the game which will help you considerably.
Keep in mind loot points only stick around for a season or two before despawning and they will stop spawning entirely if a building is placed too close to them.
Winter in Medieval Dynasty is treacherous, and it is crucial that you prepare for it as soon as possible. Although the seasons only last three days in the game the three days of winter can be punishing if you are not adequately prepared. Winter will kill crops and slow down trade, it can also kill you if you allow your temperature meter to get too low. Listed below are some things it is essential that you do in preparation for winter.
- Build your first house
- Stockpile supplies
- Grow and store fruits and veggies in spring and summer
- Hunt and store meats in fall and winter
- Make clothing with leather
At the end of each year of Medieval Dynasty you will be required to pay tax to the taxman. This is a substantial amount that cannot be avoided and for the first few years will seem like a lot. If you have made efforts to be as self-sufficient as possible and not spent too much at the market you should have enough money saved up to pay off your taxes. It is recommended that once you have a steady income you try and put aside a percentage of it for your taxes.
