Make sure you repair broken things in the town like bridges, passages, or buildings as soon as you are able to as repairing them can get you access to new locations.
As soon as you get access to your own farm it is advised that you plant the carrot seeds you get from the farmer. This is because eventually the donkey will stop working for free and will want you to pay 5 carrots every time he arrives.
It is important that you listen to what each of the NPCs have to say as it is valuable information that will help you complete various quests.
If you fix the bridge that is left from your graveyard you will discover there is a swamp behind it which will have an infinite supply of iron and coal.
When you have a corpse that has a negative effect on your graveyard you can get rid of it by throwing it in the river. Currently there are no consequences for disposing corpses in the river so it is also an available option if you have a full graveyard. Remember to process body parts that you want before disposal.
A good way to make money every week is to hold surmons at the church. To upgrade the church you need to give a certificate to the bishop which can be found inside the mailbox on the left side of the church.
The quickest way to build up both money and research early in the game is to mine stone and chop wood. To the upper left of the house on Fallow Road you will find unlimited stone and wood can be found everywhere. There is a shop north of town for both wood and stone that will buy or sell resources for a small cash gain.
