In the game add youself as a manager of a new tea, put stay with the team you started with.

Then with the team you have taken over, make an offer for a rubbish player who isnt worth much but offer loads of money (dont offer to much money or the board will think it's unreallistic).

If the player rejects the move, then discipline him and place him on the transfer list (some players wont make the jump from really big rivals e.g celtic and rangers or man united or liverpool).
