You will find that combat in Pathfinder: Kingmaker can be unforgiving at times and there will be some encounters that will be too dificult to deal with unless you have the proper party setup. You can easily overcome this problem by using the game's Difficulty Option to to adjust the experience to something more manageable.

Reloading encounters is part of the learning experience and sometimes the only way to find out what you are up against. There will be times where it will be better to leave an encounter for later when you have the proper tools to deal with it.

You have access to a Combat Log which allows you to find out a lot of information, it is especially useful when you have to deal with difficult enemies as it enables you to see how high your opponents Armour Class (AC) and Damage Reduction (DR) are. Checking the Combat Log will also give you some insight into which enemies to prioritise during combat, and whether or not it�??s even worth attempting the encounter just yet.

A good combat strategy is to use a Stealthy character to scout ahead and then send in your Tank first when you engage combat. While the enemy is tied up dealing with your Tank the other members of your party can play their role behind it without interruptions. Buffs and Crowd Control abilities are important so make sure you Buff your party with longer lasting spells before your engage the enemy so you won't have to do it during combat which will free up time to attack enemies instead.

It is hard to hit anything during the early game so try to get Masterwork Weapons and the Weapon Focus Feat as soon as possible as they give bonuses to Attack Rolls which means more chances to Hit.

As the ruler of your kingdom it is your job to navigate foreign and domestic politics throughout the game and how you deal with situations is entirely up to you. Kingdom management is handled through the kingdom map. The map is accessible through the table in the throne room or in the overworld map between areas. You can delegate your leaders to handle some activites but the more important quests you will have to deal with yourself.



Inside the kingdom map you will also have access to your construction options. It is essential to be successful that you construct buildings and purchase new regions to further your stats and it is equally important that you keep an eye out for any unrest within your kingdom, if the settlement ever drops to crumbling status the game is over.

In Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Definitive Edition there are 15 different classes, each of which play completely different and has a number of subclasses with their owin specifics. The 15 classes available are: Alchemist, Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Inquisitor, Kineticist (DLC 'Wildcards'), Magus, Monk, Paladin, Rogue, Ranger, Sorcerer, and Wizard.



There is no best class, each individual class can be developed into a very powerful tool in your team. The class you choose should be the one that best suits your playstyle. Once you have selected a class you need to try to develop it in the direction you want. It is important while doing this you stick to appropriate talents and avoid creating a jack-of-all trades character who is able to do a little bit of everything, but nothing properly. The reason for this is that later in the game if you don't have a fully developed and specialised character on the field they won't last very long.
