In Outriders it is more beneficial to keep moving and finding new angles from which to attack from rather than to stay in one place behind cover. Staying behind cover too long will quickly result in the enemies flanking you which will lead to you being overwhelmed as you will be attacked from all directions. It is also important to remember that while you are cowering in cover you are not taking advantage of your unique heals which requires you to kill enemies.
