Save the Bosses

Whenever you defeat a boss in One Step from Eden you will be given the choice to either spare or kill them. Although if you decide to kill your foe you will receive some extra money it is more beneficial to save their life as they will then repay you by healing a decent chunk of your health and randomly assist you in forthcoming battles where they may even save you from death.

Combat Tips

Combat in One Step from Eden happens in real time and in order to be proficient at it you must become adept at quickly positioning your character for both attacking and dodging, which is something that can only be achieved by playing the game.

There are though a couple of fundamentals you should keep in mind such as continually mashing Safron's Weapon attack which is free and will not get in the way of your spell-casting strategies, and to continually move to dodge the attacks that will come in the form of a projectile or the tiles marked in red.

How to Unlock Characters

To unlock a character in One Step from Eden you must beat them in the fourth world onwards as a boss. Once you reach the fourth world any character you beat at this point will become playable once your run is over. The only exception to this rule is the Shopkeeper, a helpful character that sells stuff, who you can defeat at any point during a run to unlock the ability to play as her. Keep in mind that the Shopkeeper is the most powerful enemy in the game and as such is not easy to defeat.

Don't Always Take Cards

You are not obligated to take the cards you are rewarded in One Step from Eden, there will be times when it will be more beneficial not to take them. There will be instances where skipping the rewards can actually improve your chances of winning as it allows you to keep a more focused deck.
