No Straight Roads Beginners Guide

Replay Boss Fights to get More Fans

Replay boss fights if you are in need of more fans to upgrade either Mayday or Zuke. Replaying boss fights you have beaten on a harder difficulty level will also enable you to get a higher ranking and unlock the skill tree to higher levels. Replaying boss fights is also a great way to get more experience if you don't have enough power cells.

Purchase Double Jump and Dash Abilities

In No Straight Roads you will be doing a lot of jumping so make sure you purchase the double jump and dash abilities in the upgrade tree under Bunk Bed Junction as soon as you are able to. Double jump and dash will enable you to maintain control while you are in the air, the double jump is the first ability you can purchase and dash can be obtained once you reach level 2. You should aim to unlock ALL the skills on Mayday and Zukes skill trees. Listed below are the skills and at what level you can purchase them:

- Double Jump

- Dash (Level 2)

- Ammo-to-Energy Converter (Level 2)

- Successful Parry and Ammo bonus (Level 2-4)

- Enlargen Circle Of Influence (Level 3-4)

- Transformables Upgrade (Level 3 and 5)

- Elliegator Drops (Level 3)

- Revive With Health (Level 2-3)

Find Recharging Locations by using the Minimap

Scattered throughout No Straight Roads are power cells which are used to power the city's dysfunctional machinery. Use you minimap to find recharging locations that need charging in order to earn the required number of fans needed to upgrade the skills and unlock the special moves of Mayday and Zuke. If you have been collecting the power cells you should have enough to power up the areas in the game before reaching the final boss.

Collect Stickers

When Mayday and Zuke are not disrupting EDM artists's concerts they are able to explore the liberated sections of Vinyl City in search of stickers, these offer passive effects in boss fights by increasing Mayday or Zuke's stats. Stickers reset so you need to make sure you have them equipped before heading into a battle.

Tip: If you want another specific sticker found in Vinyl City just head back to the location after loading in and out of an area. They reset.

Listen to the Music

It is important that you listen to how the music plays in No Straigh Roads and follow it's rhythm as all the major fights in the game are triggered according to a particular rhythm and verse. By paying attention and listening to the music you will be able to anticipate an attack when it hits.

Temporary Invincibility

Mayday�??s boomerang projectile and Zuke�??s 'music note' attack both give you temporary invincibility when you mash the attack button. Use them when you encounter an enemy attack that you can't figure out the timing or pattern.
