Introduction ============================================== This is a FAQ about how to defeat the bosses, minibosses, and Squeaks in Kirby Squeak Squad. I also included a guide on abilities Kirby shouldn't use. I also rated the bosses on how difficult they are to defeat with and without abilities on a 1-10 scale. I also put which abilities make bosses pitifully easy. Different abilities may make the bosses easier or harder, and this is just my personal opinion. ============================================== 2. Updates ============================================== Version 1.6- Fixed an error Version 1.5- Fixed more typos and updated Meta-Knight's section Version 1.4- Fixed a few typos/errors Version 1.3- Updated Doc's section Version 1.2- Added an additional strategy to the Fire Owl Version 1.1- Fixed a few typos Version 1- FAQ Completed ============================================== 3. Abilities Kirby shouldn't use ============================================== Some Abilities are, simply put, unable to defeat bosses. I have made a list of abilities that shouldn't be used to defeat bosses. Metal- Not immune to bosses or their projectiles. Sleep- Can't fight. Ghost- Most bosses don't give Kirby enemies to possess, and most of the enemies the bosses make don't have abilities. ============================================== 4. The Squeaks ============================================== The Squeaks, while technically not bosses, are tough enemies that appear in many stages. Daroach is not listed here because he is a true boss. The Squeakers are just plain enemies, so they aren't here either. ---------------------------------------------- 4.1 Spinni ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 2 Difficulty with an ability- 1 Strategy: Spinni isn't difficult, with or without an ability. His only attacks are throwing shurikens at Kirby and slashing at Kirby with a rake. Kirby can inhale the shurikens. The shurikens give Kirby the Ninja ability. After being damaged a little, he will rest and drop a rake. The rake gives Kirby the Animal ability. While resting, Spinni cannot be hurt. You can, however, hit him to get food that restores health. He may turn red at this point, speeding himself up. After being defeated you can continue hitting Spinni for more food. Spinni is no threat at all. ---------------------------------------------- 4.2 Storo ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 4 Difficulty with an ability- 2 Strategy: Storo is pretty big, and his attacks take up a good deal of room, so fighting him abilityless in a small area isn't a good idea. He can either use a jumping attack or a hammer attack, which both produce stars to inhale. After being damaged enough, he will rest for a a while. While resting, Storo cannot be hurt. You can, however, hit him to get food that restores health. He may turn red at this point, speeding himself up. After being defeated you can continue hitting Storo for more food. Most abilities will make short work of Storo. ---------------------------------------------- 4.3 Doc ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 1 Difficulty with an ability- 0 Strategy: Doc is easily the easiest of the Squeaks. He has next to no health, and is pitifully easy to defeat with or without an ability. He flies around in a U.F.O., can drop bombs, shoot a laser, and spray what I think is ice. Only the bombs can be inhaled. The bombs give the bomb ability. After being damaged a little, he will rest and drop a laser cannon or his U.F.O. The laser cannon, when inhaled, gives Kirby the Laser ability. The U.F.O., when super inhaled, gives the U.F.O. ability. While resting, Doc cannot be hurt. You can, however, hit him to get food that restores health. He may turn red at this point, speeding himself up. After being defeated, Doc explodes, creating a good amount of food. ============================================== 5. Minibosses ============================================== Minibosses are somewhat common, and when they are defeated Kirby can inhale them for an ability. The Ghost Wizard replaces several minibosses when you collect all of the ghost medals. ---------------------------------------------- 5.1 Mr. Frosty ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 2 Difficulty with an ability- 1 Ability Kirby gets by inhaling him- Ice Strategy: Mr. Frosty will throw ice cubes at Kirby, both small and big, that can be inhaled (big ones must be super inhaled). He will also charge at Kirby, and if he hits Kirby, he will eat Kirby and spit Kirby out. He does both of his attacks slowly, making him no threat. ---------------------------------------------- 5.2 Bonkers ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 3 Difficulty with an ability- 2 Ability Kirby gets by inhaling him- Hammer Strategy: Bonkers can throw coconuts at Kirby, big and small, and both can be inhaled (big ones must be super inhaled). He will also try to hit Kirby with his hammer, which will produce stars to shoot back at him. It is easy to trick Bonkers into doing his attacks early, making him no threat. ---------------------------------------------- 5.3 Boxy ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 3 Difficulty with an ability- 2 Ability Kirby gets by inhaling her- Magic Strategy: Boxy can actually heal Kirby. She wiil try to jump on Kirby, charge at Kirby, and throw presents that can be inhaled. If you wait a while, the present will open to reveal a Waddle Dee or food. If Kirby're low on health, Kirby could wait a while for food to be created. Boxy is otherwise nothing special. ---------------------------------------------- 5.4 Box Boxer ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 8 Difficulty with an ability- 5 Ability Kirby gets by inhaling him- Fighter Strategy: Unfortunately, Box Boxer makes a return from Kirby & the Amazing Mirror. He is still the hardest miniboss. He can shoot an energy beam which can be inhaled and he can jump and produce stars which can be inhaled. He will also punch at Kirby and run around often. What makes him so hard is the fact that he almost never stops moving, providing nearly no opportunities to hit him without putting Kirby at risk. ---------------------------------------------- 5.5 Metal Golem ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 3 Difficulty with an ability- 2 Ability Kirby gets by inhaling him- Metal Strategy: Metal Golem is no threat. All he does is walk around slowly, while rocks constantly fall from above, which can be inhaled. The only attack the Metal Golem can do himself is roll at Kirby, which will likely hit Kirby if you aren't prepared for it. Also of note is Metal Golem's high health. ---------------------------------------------- 5.6 Bubble Crab ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 4 Difficulty with an ability- 4 Ability Kirby gets by inhaling it- Bubble Strategy: Bubble Crab doesn't attack often. It can shoot a bunch of bubbles at Kirby which can be inhaled or drop a Waddle Dee down in a bubble. If you hit it enough with an ability, the bubbles of Bubble Crab will pop, and it will run around wildly, shooting bubbles out. It is hard to hit it with an ability while it is doing this. It will eventually go back to normal after a while of running wildly. Because of that attack, it is equally hard to defeat the Bubble Crab with or without an ability. ---------------------------------------------- 5.7 Big Beast ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 3 Difficulty with an ability- 2 Ability Kirby gets by inhaling him- Animal Strategy: The Big Beast only has two attacks. He can slowly spin around towards Kirby, while producing stars which can be inhaled, and than gets dizzy and won't attack for a short time. He will also drill up into the ceiling and than back down into Kirby, again producing stars to inhale. It isn't difficult to defeat the Big Beast. ---------------------------------------------- 5.8 Ghost Sorcerer ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 7 Difficulty with an ability- 5 Ability Kirby gets by inhaling him- Ghost NOTE: Kirby can only fight the Ghost Sorcerer after you've collected all of the Ghost Medals. The Ghost Sorcerer replaces several minibosses in the game. Strategy: The Ghost Sorcerer is constantly producing mini-ghosts. When he has the mini-ghosts, they circle him for the Ghost Sorcerer's protection from projectiles. It only has one true attack, which is sending the mini-ghosts to attack Kirby. If the Ghost Sorcerer touches Kirby, he will hold Kirby and a mini-ghost will hit Kirby. The Ghost Sorcerer can be very annoying without an ability. ============================================== 6. Bosses ============================================== Each boss in Kirby Squeak Squad has it's own individual stage, along with a room leading to the boss it containing two abilities. There are generally a few abilities that make the boss easy, and they are usually located in the room leading to it. I have listed the abilities that work best against each boss. ---------------------------------------------- 6.1 King Dedede ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 1 Difficulty with an ability- 0 Ability Kirby should use- Any ability Strategy: MUCH easier than he is in other games. King Dedede can attack in several ways. He will try to inhale Kirby and spit Kirby back out. He will yell and a few Parasol Waddle Dees will float down for Kirby to inhale. They give the Parasol ability. He can attack with his hammer by just attempting to hit Kirby with it or jumping up and slamming it down. Both hammer attacks produce stars to inhale. He will also jump up and land back down, again producing stars. Finally, he will take in air, float around, and release an air puff that won't hurt Kirby. King Dedede is pitifully easy with or without an ability. ---------------------------------------------- 6.2 Mrs. Moley ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 4 Difficulty with an ability- 1 Ability Kirby should use- Fire, Ice, Spark, Bubble, Tornado Strategy: Mrs. Moley only has two attacks. She can throw a lot of items, listed below, at Kirby which can be inhaled or super inhaled. Her second attack is a diving attack. After retreating to her hole, she might appear in a hole in the background. If her sunglasses glint, she is going to do the attack. A shadow will appear over Kirby and follow him around until it gets big. Mrs. Moley will then crash down. If she lands in one of her holes, she will proceed as normal. If she lands on normal ground, she will take some damage and lay down. She is extremely vulnerable while this happens, and if you have an ability the fight will likely end here. Mrs. Moley is a relatively easy boss. List of items Mrs. Moley throws: ITEM NAME WHAT ABILITY YOU GET Wheel Wheel Bomb* Bomb Saw Blade Cutter Barrel Fire Pink Dot None Rocks** None Screws None * Must be super inhaled ** Some must be super inhaled, others are fine with a normal inhale. ---------------------------------------------- 6.3 Mecha-Kracko ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 9 Difficulty with an ability- 5 Ability Kirby should use- Tornado, Hi-Jump, U.F.O., Cutter (With ability Scroll) Strategy: To keep you own sanity in this fight, use Tornado, Hi-Jump, U.F.O. There are two parts to this fight. In the first, easy one, Mecha-Kracko just flies around a little, occasionally releasing an enemy. The enemy will either be a Super Pig which gives Hi-Jump, a Waddle Doo which gives Beam, or a Waddle Dee. After defeating it, the battle goes to the second part. Electricity will surround Mecha-Kracko, and it'll go off the screen and come back on the bottom, and than destroy the clouds. It'll than create new clouds, but in a different pattern. It will do this throughout the match. Mecha-Kracko will still spit out enemies, but can now do two more attacks. The first is flying towards Kirby and surrounding itself with electricity. Mecha-Kracko's second attack is staying above Kirby and firing jolts of electricity while moving to the other side of the screen. Just float above Mecha-Kracko to avoid this one. You're in for a difficult fight if you aren't using abilities. The battle is held on clouds, so Fire, Fire Sword, and Bomb will likely cause you to lose. ---------------------------------------------- 6.4 Mecha Hermit Crab ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 5 Difficulty with an ability- 4 Ability Kirby should use- Tornado, Cutter, U.F.O. Strategy: This is a unique boss fight. The screen will constantly scroll left, which is where the Mecha Hermit Crab will be, so if Kirby gets stuck, it's very likely that he will be hurt. The Mecha Hermit Crab only has two attacks, although there will be rocks falling down constantly that can be inhaled or super inhaled, along with Gordos that must be avoided. His first attack is to fire a laser along the ground that is easy to avoid by jumping. The second attack can only be done when the machine still has at least one of it's "claws". The Mecha Hermit Crab crashes it's claw(s) into the ground to make blocks ahead of Kirby. While the blocks are flying through the air they can hurt Kirby. When they land, they must be jumped over, destroyed, or inhaled. The danger is that if you aren't careful, you'll likely get hit by the Mecha Hermit Crab while doing this. The more damage you do to the Mecha Hermit Crab, the more disabled it becomes, and it will eventually lose both of it's "claws" making it capable only of the laser attack. After that, it won't be able to attack at all. The screen also scrolls slower after doing damage to it. ---------------------------------------------- 6.5 Fire Owl ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 8 Difficulty with an ability- 4 Ability Kirby should use- Tornado, Hi-Jump, U.F.O., Cutter, Sword Strategy: The Fire wlO has two attacks. It's first is to drop fireballs which can be inhaled. It's second dangerous attack is to lunge at Kirby. The Fire Owl will cry out before doing this. If it misses and hits the ground, it'll be vulnerable for a while, but a bunch of rocks will fall, enemies will appear, or a combination of the two. The Fire Owl will also fly around and off the screen constantly. The Fire Owl is more annoying than difficult. ----------------------- ADDITIONAL STRATEGIES ----------------------- Sent in by ninjamanuever: The trick is to use the sword ability and stand on the center platform. If the owl swoops down, use the sword's uppercut ability, which both dodges and hits the owl. If it uses fireballs, also use the uppercut, however, it may be a good idea to scoot over to avoid fire. ---------------------------------------------- 6.6 Daroach ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 4 Difficulty with an ability- 2 Ability Kirby should use- Tornado, Hi-Jump, U.F.O., Fire Sword Strategy: This battle is held on ice. Daroach has three attacks. He can use his magic wand to fire a thin ice beam across the screen, so just float up to avoid that. He will also use the Tri-Star to fire three stars at Kirby which can be inhaled. The stars bounce around for a while after they're fired, than disappear. Daroach will also occasionally drop bombs which can be inhaled. They also give the Bomb ability. Daroach also teleports around the screen constantly. Daroach isn't hard to beat, especially if you have an ability. ---------------------------------------------- 6.7 Meta-Knight ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 8 Difficulty with an ability- 6 Ability Kirby should use- Tornado, Spark, Thunder Sword, Thunder Bomb, Beam, U.F.O. Strategy: Since this battle takes place on metal ground, electrical abilities are best. When you use an attack from an electrical ability like Spark or Beam, some electricity will go along the surface, slightly damaging whatever it touches. Also worth noting is the fact that swallowing any stars Meta-Knight makes will give Kirby the Sword ability. Meta-Knight has a few attacks. He will often attack you with his sword, which will make stars. He can also do an upwards jab with it and a ground pound as well, so be careful. He can also create a tornado, which can be avoided by staying at either side of the screen. He will also make shoot fire waves which are easy to avoid because they are rather slow and travel in a strait path. He final attack is to stick his sword into the ground to create some electricity. This attack has a wide range, but it is easy to avoid by floating. Meta-Knight will occasionally block Kirby's attacks. Meta-Knight is usually moving, so defeating him without an ability is difficult. ---------------------------------------------- 6.8 Dark Daroach ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 8 Difficulty with an ability- 5 Ability Kirby should use- Tornado, Hi-Jump, U.F.O. Strategy: Dark Daroach isn't very different from Daroach. His attacks are just powered up. He can fire a pretty thick beam of ice. He can also drop bombs which can be super inhaled. They also give the Bomb ability. If you do not get rid of the bomb, it will explode, making a huge pillar of fire that reaches up, making it impossible to pass. It goes away after a short while. Dark Daroach can also fire three stars from the Tri-Star that can be inhaled. The stars bounce around for a while after they're fired, than disappear. Dark Daroach also teleports around the screen constantly. After defeating him, you will receive the Tri-Star for the final battle. If you want another ability, get rid of the ability, have Kirby keep it in his mouth, get the Tri-Star, and swallow your ability. ---------------------------------------------- 6.9 Dark Nebula ---------------------------------------------- Difficulty w/o an ability- 8 Difficulty with an ability- 2 Ability Kirby should use- Tornado, Hi-Jump, U.F.O. Strategy: For a final boss, Dark Nebula is very easy. He has three forms which he'll switch between throughout the fight. He has Ice, Spark, and Fire forms. All of the forms can release stars which can be inhaled. His fire form can release a giant fireball which must be destroyed, otherwise it will explode, making an unpassable, thick pillar in the center of the screen, along with small fires covering the ground. This attack can be avoided by floating in either top corner of the screen. The attack only lasts for a short while. This attack melts any ice the ice form may have created. The ice form can spray ice downwards, and this attack can be avoided by staying on either side of the screen. This attack covers the ground with ice which cannot be destroyed without an ability, but can be destroyed by the fire form's special attack. His spark form can send out four electrical charges that each travel to a corner of the stage, the make the sides of the stage electrical and dangerous. Avoid this attack by floating away from the walls, ground, ceiling, and Dark Nebula. The attack only lasts a short while. He is very difficult to defeat without abilities because he is usually moving and it is hard to get a star without getting hit. ============================================== 7.
