==============================================================================

Author Introduction:

I'm Huntoxx aka Nuno Fontes, and this is my very first FAQ/Walktrough. English
isn't my first language so if you see any major errors email me. I am 13 years
old and hope you enjoy reading this guide as much as i enjoyed writing it.

Game Introduction:

This Nintendo DS game is about a boy who dreams to become a Fossil Fighter.
One day he goes to Vivosaur Island in hopes to get to be the best Fossil
Fighter around. This is where your adventure starts. Travel around Vivosaur
Island digging fossils and reviving Vivosaurs to use them in battles...

                                    2. FAQ                              [2000]
==============================================================================

Q: What are the different zones, the difference between between them and who
should i put in each?

A:       ______
        / \ Legend and when comes to use:
       |  SZ1   |               AZ: There is where the main fighter stays;
       |        |               The AZ gives a bonus attack for less defense;
        \______/ You must always have one Vivosaur in the AZ.
  ______        ______
 /      \      /      \         SZ1: Your second fighter/supporter stays here
| EZ | | AZ | because if the Vivosaur placed in the AZ dies
| | | | or is switched the one placed in the SZ1 will
 \______/      \______/         take over.
         ______ SZ gives you defense in exchange for attack
        /      \                (Long-range Vivosaurs excluded);
       |  SZ2   |
       |        |               SZ2: Your Supporter/Long-Range Vivosaur should
        \______/                stay here;
                                SZ gives you defense in exchange for attack
                                (Long-range Vivosaurs excluded);
This is my very first Ascii
Art, so don?t go hard on me EZ: When the Vivosaur in the AZ is switched he
                                will come here;
                                Vivosaurs in the EZ cannot be attacked OR
                                Attack;

The different zones are Attack Zone (AZ) 2 Support Zones (SZ1 and SZ2) and
the Escape Zone (EZ). You will put one Vivosaur in each zone, except for the
EZ. In the AZ you should put a Vivosaur with a good amount of LP and Attack.
In the SZ1 you should put a Vivosaur with good or medium LP and Attack,
because he will take over when you switch the AZ Vivosaur. In the SZ2 you
should put a Long-Range Vivosaur or one with good Support Effects.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What are the elemental Strong/Weak points?

A: Air - Water - Fire - Earth - Air.

- = Wins against

Neutral has no weak or strong points.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What are the advantages of using a faborable element?

A: You will do more damage when attacking an enemy using the strong element.
Also, the enemy will also do less damage when attacking.
Bear in mind that the same is true for the enemy, too, so be careful.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Where can I find Fossil Fighters to fight against?

A: In Digging Sites, there are a few Fossil Fighters. Talk to them and they
will challenge you. Fossil Fighters also appear sometimes when digging.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: How long is this game?

A: If you train your Vivos, talk to everyone and do sidequests, the game
shouldn't take more than 40 hours.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Are battles too long?

A: No, most battles will take 1-5 minutes.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What are Red Fossils?

A: Red Fossils are a rare kind and, if you clean one, they will give you a
bonus 25 points. You will only be able to have the Best Rank in a Fossil(125)
using Red Fossils.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: How do I know if my fossil is a red one?

A: If a Fossil Fighter challenges you to a Fossil Battle when you dig a
regular fossil (no jewel rocks), there's a 50% chance that fossil is a red
one.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: How do I change my character's name?

A: In Relic Hotel, behing the tree, there is a man. Talk to him and when he
asks you if you like your name say "No". The name window will appear and you
just have to type in the new name you want.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Is there a way to change gender?

A: No, you must be a boy.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What are Donation Points(DP)?

A: DP are given when you clean a fossil rock and your previous rank was better
or the same one you did in that cleaning. If so, you will be awarded donation
points depending on your score:
50-59Pts = 1 DP                60-69Pts = 2 DP                 70-79Pts = 3 DP
80-89Pts = 4 DP                90-99Pts = 5 DP              100-125Pts = 10 DP

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What are DP for?

A: DP can be used to buy fossil rocks. You can buy for 50 DP, 75 DP, 100 DP,
and 200 DP.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What are Battle Points (BP)?

A: BP count as an addiction to your Vivosaurs Rank. Vivosaurs Rank can either
be obtained by updating/adding fossil parts to your Vivo or by getting Battle
Points. 1 BP = 1 point upgrade for a fossil part.

                                 3.2. Digging                           [3200]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In order to get fossils you must dig. To dig fossils you must be in a digging
site. First press L or R Button to activate the sensor. If the sensor doesn't
detect anything move and try again. When your sensor detects something, go to
that localization and press A to dig. If that's the right localization, you
will dig either a fossil rock or a normal rock. If it is a fossil rock you
have to clean it before you can revive/upgrade Vivosaurs.

Contributed by: Khaled76

Later on the game when you have Fossil Appraiser: AAA Grade you will find Dark
Fossils. Dark fossils basically contain either a rare normal fossil, a jewel
rock or a fossil dropping aka fossil poo. When you find a fossil dropping for
the first time, it is kinda pointless as it only sells for 1g. However, you
can give it to Mr. Nick Nack the local weirdo. If you give it to Mr. Nick
Nack, he will trade the fossil dropping for something better such as a rubys.
To find Mr Nick Nack, go to the hotel and go to the left elevator, not right
one, and go into the first door you see (The one that's locked previusly in
the game) and he should be there.

                                3.3. Cleaning                           [3300]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In order to clean Fossils you must go to the Fossil Center. There you have to
go to the Cleaning Room in the right-side of the counter. In there, talk to
the cleaning robot and select Clean by hand. To clean, you must use the
stylus. The icons in top of the screen are your tools. While at the countdown,
select the X-Ray (the one in the middle) and see where you have to clean.
After you should select the hammer (the one of the right) and use the stylus
to break the superfacial rock. When you start to see white things (the
fossil), change to the drill and finish cleaning.

Note: Don't clean too much, or you will break the fossil. Also, you only need
to clean where the fossil is, you don't need to clean all the screen.
Also, there are some fossil rocks harder than others. Take the keymonite for
an example. If you hammer the keymonit's fossil rock it will break all the
rock structures and maybe even damage the keymonite, while in other fossil
rocks you will need to drill for 3 seconds to get the rock out (using normal
drill)!

                                 3.4. Battle                            [3400]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The battles in Fossil Fighters are called Fossil Battles. In Fossil Battles,
you and your opponent can have a MAX of 3 Vivosaurs in game and 2 in the
Reserve Area. Vivosaurs in the Reserve don't fight, but they will win battle
points, letting you rank them up without having them fight. The Fossil Fight
occurs between your Vivosaurs and the opponent's. In the battlefield there are
4 different zones, the Attack Zone (AZ), the Support Zone 1 (SZ1), the Support
Zone 2 (SZ2) and the Escape Zone (EZ). You place a Vivosaur in AZ, SZ1 and SZ2
at the start of each game.

                                will come here;
                                Vivosaurs in the EZ cannot be attacked OR
                                Attack;

Before each Fossil Battle you will be taken to the Formation Screen. Here, you
can see your opponent's Vivosaurs as well as change your Vivosaur formation.
In the first circle stands your AZ Vivosaur, in the second your SZ1's, in the
third your SZ2's. The other two circles are the reserve ones. They are often
used to put weaker Vivosaurs that can't yet be effective in battle so that
they can get Batte Points (BP).

                                4. Walktrough                           [4000]
==============================================================================

Note: This Guide contains Spoilers so read at own risk.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                       4.1. Prologue: Vivosaur Island                   [4100]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You start in a boat with Captain Travers. He will ask you if you are going to
the Vivosaur Island to become a Fossil Fighter. He will then say that it takes
a lot of bravery to go to the Vivosaur Island alone. After that he'll ask your
name.
After naming your character he will ask wich kind of dinosaurs you prefer.

You will arrive at Vivosaur Island and two Staff Members, Sue and Beth will
talk to you. They will tell you how to get your Fighter License, so that you
can become a Fossil Fighter. Sue will take you to the Fossil Center. There
Wendy, another Staff Member, will tell you that Dr. Diggins has just wandered
off again and that you should go to the hotel to check in while you are
waiting.

You will now gain control of your character. You can talk to people if you
want. When you are ready exit the Fossil Center. A girl will come running
saying that she can't stop and will get you on the floor. She apologizes and
asks you if you are alright and will teach you how to run.

From the Fossil Center, head East and you will be in front of a huge building.
Enter it, that is the Hotel. As you enter the Relic Hotel the manager will
talk to you and take you to your room and explain how to open doors and how to
save. When the scene ends, leave your room and go West to the elevator. When
you reach your destination the Manager will talk to you once again. He will
explain how to use Help Mode.

After that leave the Relic Hotel and head West, back to Fossil Center. Wendy
will tell you that Dr. Diggins has returned and tells you to talk to him
before he wanders off again. Go to the room by the right side of the counter
and talk to Dr. Diggins. Dr. Diggins will introduce himself as the Fossil
Center's director and head researcher. He apologizes for when you met before
and will tell you that fossil hunting is very fun. He then tells you the story
of how he found his first fossil. After he will explain the basics about being
a Fossil Fighter, reviving Vivosaurs, the four different types of fossils,
that to revive a Vivosaur you only need the head, however the other parts will
make it more powerful, and that cleaning is very important.
After the scene you will get to clean your very first fossil. Dr. Digginswill
explain how to do it, so follow his instructions. If you need help, go to the
cleaning section. After that, the Vivosaur Spinax will be revived. Dr.Diggins
will take you to a Staff Member for you to train Cleaning before the test.

You must now go to the Fossil Stadium in order to do a test to receive your
Fighter's License. To get to the Fossil Stadium go West from the Fossil
Center. Inside the Fossil Stadium talk to Tiffany, the Staff Member in the
Counter. She tells you that the Cleaning Test is about to start and also tells
you to go to the door in the right side of the counter when you are ready.
Save if you want and enter the room. A robot will watch your test. When you
finish the robot will tell you to talk to Tiffany for information about your
Battle Test.

Tiffany will introduce you to Tipper, who will explain to you about Fossil
Battles.

You will then enter a practice battle against Tipper. Don't worry, you won't
really battle, she will just explain you the basics. When it's done, talk to
Tiffany again and she will tell you to go to the room in which you did the
Cleaning test.

When you enter guess who you will be battling? Captain Travers, from the boat!
You will now see the formation screen for the first time. Since it is a
One-on-One fight you don't need to worry, just press ready. Don't worry, this
battle is straightforward, just attack every turn and you should win easily.
After the battle Captain Travers will say that you did an excellent battle,
and that it makes you an official Fossil Fighter. He will advice you to save
often and will give you the legs part of the Vivosaur you told him to be your
favourite. Dr. Diggins will appear and award you the Fighter's License.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                           4.2. CH1: The Missing Medals                 [4200]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the next day, Dr. Diggins will enter the room to tell you something he
forgot yesterday. He will give you a Fighter's Journal. He will also tell you
to meet Bea Guinner, your Digging Instructor, Bea Guinner, in the Park Area.

When you gain control, go down to the lobby and the Hotel Manager will tell
you about the Status and Dino Medals Menu. Exit the hotel and head East until
the next area. Here continue heading East until you reach a Fork. Keep going
East and you will notice a way going North. Follow it and talk to your Digging
Instructor, Bea Guinner.

She will take you to the Trial Digging Site and explain how to use your Sonar
and Dig. She will then bury 3 rocks so that you can practice digging. Press
the R or L Button to activate the Sonar. Move to one of the dots and press A
in front of it. Keep doing this until you digged all of them. She will tell
you to talk to her when you want to leave. But don't do that just yet. Keep
digging more fossils until there are no more and talk to her. She will tell
you to take the fossil rocks to the Cleaning Room in order to clean them, and
to go back to her once you have done so.

In order to get to the Fossil Center, head South and turn West at the first
fork. Keep going in that direction until the next area. Now head West and turn
North at the second turn. In the Fossil Center go straight North to the
cleaning room.

Here you will watch a scene in which Dr. Diggins introduces you
to KL-33N, your new cleaning partner. After, talk to him and select the "Clean
by hand" option. You will be shown your case, in which you store fossils.
Select any of them and clean them. When you have finished, KL-33N will tell
you about the layout of your case and, if you donated any rock, about Donation
Points (DP). When you try to leave the cleaning room, Dr. Diggins will come in
with a Vivosaur Management Machine (VMM). He will say that it's used to store
Dino Medals and make Battle Teams. He will then explain how to use it. You
should use it right now to assign the Shanshan your team.

When you are ready go back to the Park Area and talk to Bea Guinner. She will
take you back to the Trial Digging Site. There you will find Holt, a Fossil
Battler. He will explain how to do Two-on-Two battles and about the different
Zones. After doing as he asks, he will challenge you to a normal battle and
explain the Formation Screen. In the battle just attack and you should be
fine. Lastly, he will explain about Battle Points (BP). When he leaves
Dr. Digging will come close to you and will give you permission to access
Greenhorn Plains. And tell you to talk to Beth, in the Fighter's Area, in
order to go to the digging sites. Talk to Bea to go back to the Park Area.
Head to the Fighter's Area and go to the harbor and talk to Beth.

Select Greenhorn Plains and off we go! As you enter, Holt will once again talk
to you, saying that sometimes, when you are digging the same fossil a Fossil
Fighter is after you will have the option to Battle them and will also explain
the destructible and undestructible obstacles. After explaining that he will
leave. I strongly suggest you dig some more now, to revive at least one more
Vivosaur and rank them up.

When you are ready, go to Greenhorn Plains if you aren't already there. Head
North until the end and you should notice a man. Talk to him and he will say
that the area beyond has extremely rare fossils, and, in order to enter, you
must give him your Dino Medals, because Fossil Fights are forbidden, so that
the fossils don't get damaged. He will then let you pass trough. Follow the
path North until you find a girl. Talk to her and go back the way you came.
As you try to leave, you notice your Dino Medals dropped on the ground. After
that, the girl you spoke to will come too and ask you where the Staff Member
from the Fossil Center was. She will then say that there wasn't a single
fossil in that are and the man went off with her medals.

She will take you to the Fossil Center, in order to get an explanation about
what happened. Wendy will then say that there isn't anyone sheduled to
Greenhorn Plains today. The girl will suggest you go to the Police Station, to
ask for their help. The Police Station is in Guild Area, to get there from the
Fighter's Area go West. When you reach the Guild Area go West and turn North
at the second Fork. You will be in front of the Police Station. Enter it and
a policeman will ask if there's anything wrong. The girl will state she wishes
to talk to Captain Bullwort, and the policeman tells you that he is in his
office, as usual. Go up the elevator and talk to the Captain Bullwort.
The girl will explain the situation and introduce herself as Rosie. Captain
Bullwort will then say that if you shuddenly got a bunch of medals you would
like to try them right away. Rosie agrees and states that he must be in the
Fossil Stadium!

Exit the Police Station and head to the Fossil Stadium. Before you enter Rosie
suggests you register a Fossil Battle to find the criminal with her medals.
Enter the Fossil Stadium and talk to Tiffany in order to register for a Fossil
Battle. Enter the arena and Rosie will notice the guy you are scheduled to
battle has her Vivosaurs! Enter the battle and just attack every turn and you
will win. After the battle Rosie will ask for the medals the guy stole, but
it seems he has just bought them from a guy called Medal-Dealer Joe! Rosie
tells you to go to the Fossil Guild, In the Guild Area. As you enter Rosie
will tell you that the Information Clerk is the one in the back desk. Talk to
him and Rosie will ask for information about Medal-Dealer Joe. The Clerk will
tell you he has affairs in Greenhorn Plains, so go there.

In Greenhorn Plains head North until you find him. Rosie will ask for her
medals back. He will challenge you for a Fossil Battle, if you win he will
give you Rosie's medals back. You don't have much of a choice, so battle him.
After the battle, Rosie gets her medals back and the Police catches Joe.
Also, Level-Up Battles are starting soon! You would better get to the Fossil
Stadium! As you get near, an announcement will state that Level-Up Battles
will be starting shortly, so hurry up! Enter the Fossil Stadium and talk to
Tiffany to register in the Level-Up Test. First comes the cleaning test. When
you are ready go to the Test area and begin. You will need at least 55% in
order to qualify. After you clear the Cleaning Test, talk to Tiffany again for
the Battle Test. Go to the Battle Arena and defeat the Level 1 Master, Wendy.
After defeating her you will officially become a Level 2 Fighter. After that
Rosie will appear with her grandfather, Mr. Richmond. It seems she has had
some difficulties passing the test. Mr. Richmond will thank you for helping
Rosie with the medals and gives you permission to visit him anytime you want,
in the Fossil Guild area.

                          4.3. CH2: Digadig Village                     [4300]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When you wake up, a message will tell you that you can now travel to Knotwood
Forest. There's a Sidequest avaible now, if you want to do it, refer to the
Sidequest section. When you are ready head to Knotwood Forest. After selecting
your destination, Beth will tell you that there is a Village deep in the
Forest, called the Digadig Tribe. As you enter Knotwood Forest, Holt will talk
to you, telling you that the shop has finally reopened! He will then explain
about upgrades.

Head North and you will see Rosie talking with a Staff Member. He says the
area beyond him is off limits and that he can?t let Rosie pass. Rosie takes
you and asks her grandfather to let her pass. Mr. Richmond will tell Rosie to
talk to Dr. Diggins, since he is aware of everything happening on the island.
Rosie then says that he seemed pretty busy last time she saw him. Mr. Richmond
agrees, but he says that if you give him a gift, he will have time for you. He
also says he has a weakness for Dino Cakes and tells you the shop in Guild
Area sells them.

Your mission is clear. Go to the shop and buy Dino Cakes! To get there, from
Richmond's Building, head East, it will be the second building you see. Enter
the shop and talk to the man in the West counter. He will tell you about
buying fossil rocks and upgrades. To buy a Dino Cake select "Today's Special".
It seems the one you bought was the last one!

Now head to Fossil Center and enter Dr. Diggins's Office, the Northwestern
one. When you enter he will notice you, and Rosie will explain to him the
situation. Dr. Diggins will tell her that an incident happenned near Digadig
Village, and that a Famous Fighter is already handling the situation. However
Dr. Diggins has received no word of the Famous Fighter since yesterday.
Rosie tells him to let them handle the situation. Dr. Diggins will say
something about being hungry and Rosie will offer him some Dino Cake in
exchange for permission to enter the area. Dr. Diggins accepts and gives you
a Clearance Card.

Now head back to Knotwood Forest and talk to the Staff Member. He will explain
about elements and challenge you to a battle.

*************************** Strategy: Very easy battle, just remember not to
* Attendant * use the weak element.
***************************
* Alectro     - Water     *
* Venator     - Earth     *
***************************

After the battle he will let you pass. Follow the path until you reach the
Eastern Wall. It looks like the road is blocked by tree stumps. But 2 of them
are destructible, so look for them and pass trough. When you reach a fork,
head North and two Digadig Villagers will request your help and introduce you
to the Digadig Chieftain.

He will explain that someone is trying to steal one of the treasures from the
Digadigamid, their sacred temple. Rosie will accept helping them, but asks
why not sending a villager. The Chieftain tells them that the bandits are able
to fight Fossil Battles, and digadigs can't use Dino Medals. The Chieftain, as
a proof of gratitude, will make a spell, causing Rosie to say diga while
talking. The Chieftain will tell her that she is now blessed with a bond
between her and the digadigs, and that it will bring eternal joy. Rosie then
faints and the Chieftain asks you for help, and that they will watch over
Rosie.

To get to Digadigamid go North. As you enter Digadigamid, you will notice a
guy standing at the entrance. It seems he is one of the criminals who stole
the Ancient Key!

***************************
* Cowardly BB Bandit * Stategy: Another easy battle, just don't use
***************************   weak elements.
* Stygi      - Fire       *
* Goyo       -  Air       *
***************************

After the battle he will run away. Head North all the way and dig a bit if you
want. After passing trough some destructible fossils, a dog will challenge you
to a battle!

***************************
* Dog * Strategy: This battle is very easy. If you have
*************************** any Earth Vivosaurs this battle will be even
* Megath  - Air  Rank 1   * easier.
* Nodo    - Air  Rank 2   *
***************************

After the battle he will retreat. Keep going North until a staircase, and go
up. Pass trough the fossils and you will see the dog with a companion of his.
The guy will challenge you to a battle.

***************************
* Long-Nosed Man * Strategy: Yet another easy battle, just use any
*************************** Vivosaur or an Earth-Fire team.
* Goyle    - Air   Rank 1 *
* Carchar  - Earth Rank 2 *
***************************

After you beat him he will release a trap, dropping you on the a room. There,
you will find Nevada Montecarlo, who will tell you about the BB Bandits, a
secret criminal organizaton, and that in order to escape, you will need a
Skeleton Key, that can be made with Keymonite.

To find Keymonite, activate your sonar and dig it as if it were a regular
fossil, but the dot will be red. After, you will take it to Nevada, and she
will tell you that you will need to clean it in order to reveal the key.

This cleaning is harder than it seems. This fossil rock is the very first soft
rock you will see. If you hammer the rock you will most probably damage the
fossil! A good way to clean it is hammering twice or 3x, and switch to the
rock. If you fail, don't worry, you will only have to dig another one.

After you clean it, she will take it and put it on the keylock. A ladder will
appear and you will climb it. Head North and climb the stairs, go trough the
field of bones and climb one more staircase. You will find the two BB Bandits
again.

After you talk with them a bit, a woman will introduce the dog as Rex, the guy
as Snivels and herself as Vivian. Nevada will say that she is pretty high in
the BB Bandits Organization Ranking. Vivian will tell you that they already
have what they are looking for and will pass trough you, escaping the room and
locking you inside.

Nevada will notice some "Ancient Script" written on the door.

It says:

A C T N L D B W N E O B A B B E D
S R T N H E E E T T U R K L O S I
E E U E I S T E H W N E A E N ! G

The decoded message is:

A secret tunnel hides between the two unbreakable bones! Dig.

Well, now do as it says, by digging between the two groups of bones in the
Eastern part of the room. When you dig, a tunnel will appear, leading to the
entrance of the digadigamid. Head a bit North and Nevada will talk to you. You
and Nevada will block the exit, so that the BB Bandits can't get away.
However, the BB Bandits took away her Dino Medals, so she can't help you.
Vivian will challenge you to a Fossil Battle.

***************************
*         Vivian          *
*************************** Strategy: Easy battle, just don't take Earth
* Nynchus  - Fire  Rank 2 *  Vivos.
* Lambeo   - Fire  Rank 2 *
***************************

After the battle Nevada will claim the stolen goods. You and Nevada will then
go back to the Digadig Chieftain, to give them the treasure. After some
conversation, the Chieftain will reward you with the idol you got from the BB
Bandits. After that, Rosie will appear, and tell the Chieftain to remove the
spell. After he "removes" the spell, Rosie will end every sentence with
digadig. The Chieftain will say that sometimes there are "complictions" with
spell removal, and that the effects should disappear in some time.

After you will be in your hotel room. Exit the Relic Hotel and Rosie will talk
to you about yesterday. Some time after Nevada will approach you and ask if
you are getting ready for the Level-Up Battles. Head to Fossil Stadium and
talk to Tiffany to register for the Level-Up Battles. First comes the Cleaning
Test, so head to the Test Area when you are ready.
In order to pass the Cleaning Test you will need at least 60Pts. After the
Cleaning Test, talk to Tiffany again for the Battle Test and head to the Test
Area. It turns out the Level 2 Master is Nevada!

***************************
* Nevada * Strategy: This battle is harder than the previous
*************************** ones. Bring at least a Fire Vivo to take care of
* Lexo - Earth Rank 3 * Lexo easily. Just don't take Earth!
* Nynchus  - Fire  Rank 2 *
* U-Raptor - Fire  Rank 2 *
***************************

After the battle you will officially be a Level 3 Fossil Battler! After,
Nevada will leave and Rosie will congratulate you on becoming a Level 3
Battler, and that she also leveled up.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                         4.4. CH2: Mine Cars Are GO!                    [4400]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You will start off in your room, where you will place the Idol you got from
the Digadig Chieftain. After that, leave to the bottom floor. As you leave the
elevator, the Hotel Manager will congratulate you on your level up, and that
there is a Fighters' Seminar being held in Rivet Ravine. He says that everyone
who goes there says wonderful things about it.

If you want to do Sidequests, there are some at this stage. To see the
details, go to the Sidequest's section. When you are ready, head to Rivet
Ravine. Beth will tell you that there is a series deep in Rivet Ravine's
hills, that there's an old man who works in those tunnels, McJunker's, and
that you should talk to him if you want to know want to know anything about
the tunnels.

As you enter, you will see a man telling two Fossil Fighters to find eight, to
bring them there in order to do the next part. When he sees you, he will ask
if you are a Fossil Fighter to take the seminar. He will introduce himself as
Sam Inaro, and tell you that he teaches seminares to give young Fossil
Fighters the skills they will need in their careers. He says that if you want
to attend, you will surely improve your Fossil Fighter's skills, and asks if
you want to attend today's seminar. He will tell you that before, he will need
to know what you already know about digging, and ask you to bring eight Fossil
Rocks back to him, and that any fossil rocks will do, and you can go outside
Rivet Ravine to collect them.

Do as he told you to and dig eight random fossil rocks. Once that's done, go
back to him. He will give you a Fighter's Appraiser: A Grade. With it, you will
be able to identify if a fossil is Air, Earth, Water, Neutral or Fire Element.

If you enter the Tunnel, you will see a man talking about you being here to
finish the job. You aproach him and he will say that you're just a kid and ask
who busted McJunker's mine car, and the only way to tunnel #5 is by his mine
car, it's his private dig site, and that the only ones allowed there are the
ones with his permission... and his mine cars. He will also say that the
fossils there are very rare. But, it seems his tools were stolen, and that he
can't fix his car without them. He will ask you if you could look for his
tools. He will also upgrade your sonar to find tools. You will need to find
his two tools, mega-wrench and multipurpose pliers, and that if you find them,
he will let you into his private private dig site. They can be found in the
Tunnels #2, #3 and #4. When you dig a Tool, a BB Bandit will pop up, and
challenge you to a battle.

The BB Bandit in Tunnel #2

*************************** Strategy: Easy battle, even random battles are
* BB Bandit * tougher, just take any Vivosaurs that aren't Earth
*************************** or Air. Also keep in mind that they are both
* Stygi - Fire Rank 1 * Long-Range Vivosaurs, dealing the same damage in
* Pachy - Earth Rank 3 * AZ or SZ.
***************************

After the battle, you will get the mega-wrench. Now head back to the entrance
and go to tunnel #4 (tunnel #3 has a rock).
As you dig the tool, a BB Bandit will popup.

The BB Bandit in Tunner #4

*************************** Strategy: Easy battle, even random battles are
* BB Bandit * tougher, just take any Vivosaurs that aren't Earth
*************************** or Air. Also, keep in mind that they are both
* Pachy - Earth Rank 1 * Long-Range Vivosaurs, dealing the same damage in
* Stygi - Fire Rank 3 * AZ or SZ.
***************************

After the battle, you will get multipurpose pliers.

After getting the two tools, you will be back at the tunnel entrance and hand
over the tools. McJunker will be surprised by the BB Bandit's envolvement in
stealing the tools, since they probably won't even know how to use them.
He will then ask you to clean them, as they are rusty.

After cleaning the tools, he will ask you to go to town to pick up an
Electromine. He will tell you that his apprentice will be in the Junk Depot.
It's located in the Guild Area, in the Southeastern corner. Also, he will say
that you will need a V-Raptor. Well that's a very common fossil, found in
Greenhorn plains.

Now, go to the Junk Depot, with V-Raptor in your team, and guess who is
McJunker apprentice? Holt! He will ask you if you brought the V-Raptor with
you, and will challenge you to a battle!

*************************** Strategy: Since you have to include V-Raptor in
* Holt * the battle, use it wisely against Tricera, or,
*************************** if your V-Raptor is low ranked or you have a
* Elasmoth - Air Rank 2 * better Air Vivosaur, you might as well as let it
* Tricera - Water Rank 2 * faint in order to get FP, since he has no Support
*************************** Effects.

After the battle, he will give you the Electrominite.
Now, go back to McJunker and talk to him. He will ask you if Holt did what he
was supposed to. After, he will take the Electrominite and install it into the
car. After some time it will be done. McJunker will also give you permission
to enter his private dig site.

As you enter tunnel #5, you will see Snivel, Rex and Vivian. As you approach,
Vivian will ask Snivels why didn't he take the car out of commission. Snivels
will say that he did it, and that he even stole McJunker's tools so that he
couldn't fix it, and gave them to Rex to hide. Vivian will call them idiots,
for burying such important things on an island full of Fossil Fighters. You
will then enter a battle.

***************************
* Rex * Strategy: He hasnt inproved much since last time,
*************************** but you should be careful of Nodo's Support Effect
* Zino - Fire Rank 1 * giving his allie almost double defense. If you
* Nodo - Air Rank 3 * were able to defeat Holt easily, this one is even
*************************** easier.

After the battle Snivels will challenge you.

*************************** Strategy: Pretty much the same as Rex, but you
* Snivels * should be specially careful with Carchar's high
*************************** attack.
* Cerato  - Air    Rank 1 *
* Carchar - Earth  Rank 3 *
***************************

After the battle, they will retreat. A message will say that there appears to
be something buried where you are standing. You will dig a Tacky Idol.

Before leaving, I suggest you dig some of the fossils here, as they are quite
useful. When you are ready, go down the hole near the car and McJunker will
say that three punks in purple just went past here scared of something, and
asked if it was them who broke his car. You will say that you beat them and he
will say that you are better than many adults in this island. He will also
tell you that the level up battles are about to start.

Head to the Fossil Stadium and register for the Level-Up Battles. First, comes
the Cleaning Test, at which you will need at least 65Pts. After comes the
Battle Test. In the Battle test, there will be two battles. One will be a
preliminary battle, at which you will face a regular Fossil Fighter, and when
you win, you will return to the lobby for the Master Battle.

For the Preliminary match you will face Holt!

*************************** Strategy: Its not a hard battle, just Attack
* Holt * every turn and you will be fine. If your Vivosaurs
*************************** are under Rank 5, I suggest you use their
* Coatlus - Air    Rank 2 * elemental weaknesses.
* Pachy   - Earth  Rank 2 *
* Tricera - Water  Rank 3 *
***************************

After the preliminary match comes the Master. And the master is... McJunker!

*************************** Strategy: Even tough he looks like and all attack,
* McJunker * McJunker has a pretty balanced team. The main
*************************** treat here Cerato, because Kentro still hasn't
* Stygi - Fire Rank 2 * Super Harden, but dont understimate him.
* Cerato  - Air    Rank 4 *
* Kentro  - Air    Rank 3 *
***************************

After the battle, you will officially be a Level 4 Fighter, and Rosie will
congratulate you. She will notice that you got another Idol, and get going to
her Level Up Battle.

==============================================================================
                                5. Sidequests                           [5000]
==============================================================================

Here I will post a list of Sidequests, where to get them, when you can do
them and the requirements.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                          5.1. The Criminal Blambeau                    [5100]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Avaible: Chapter 2: Digadig Village
Where: Police Station, talk to the Officer in the middle.
Requirements: None

When you talk with the Officer he will say that the police just received
reports of the criminal Blambeau, and that he likes to be on digging sites.
He wears a green hat and brown clothes. Guess where Blambeau is? At Greenhorn
Plains. Head there and go to the Northwest corner. You will see a man. He
wears a green hat and brown clothes. Haven't we heard that before? He is
Blambeau!

*************************** Strategy: This can be a hard battle, but there's a
* Blambeau Battle * way around that. Dig Nynchu and S-Raptor fossils
*************************** at Knotwood Forest and stick the S-Raptor to the
* Venator - Earth Rank 2 * AZ, Nynchus to the SZ1 and a good supporter (Goyle
* Ourano - Earth Rank 2 * recomended) in the SZ2. The Earth Vivos will
* Lambeo - Fire Rank 2 * crumble to your S-Raptor, and, if he dies Nynchus
*************************** will replace him. After just finish off the last
                            Vivosaur.

After defeating him, go back to the Police Station and talk to the Officer
again. He will reward you with 3.000G.

Reward: 3.000G

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                             5.2. The True Hero?                        [5200]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Avaible: Chapter 3: Mine Cars Are Go!
Where: Fossil Stadium, Entrance, kid near Southwestern corner.
Requirements: Have talked to the Information Clerk; Green Hero Mask (bought
during quest).

First, in order for this Sidequest to become avaible, you will need to talk to
the Inforation Clerk at the Fossil Guild. After talking to him, Go to the
Fossil Stadium and and talk to the kid near the Shouthwestern corner. He will
say that he'd give anything to meet Vivosaur Man. Now head to the Shop and
select buy mask. After, talk to the Mask Lady, in Eastern part of Fossil
Guild. A menu will pop up, just select the Green Hero Mask. After, head to
the Fossil Stadium again. Talk to the kid and he will challenge you to a
Fossil Battle!

*************************** Strategy: Even tough he has 3 Vivosaurs, they are
* Chip * all in Rank 1, so you shouldn't have problems with
*************************** it. Bring 1 or 2 Air Vivosaurs to defeat the Water
* Paki - Water Rank 1 * ones in one hit, leaving Andrarch alone. Just
* Alectro - Water Rank 1 * attack and he will be defeated too.
* Andrarch - Fire  Rank 1 *
***************************

After the Fossil Battle, the kid will believe you are Vivosaur Man and reward
you a new Mask, because he thinks it looks cooler. If you want, you can put on
the Purple Mask and talk to him, but you won't receive any rewards.

Rewards: Purple Hero Mask

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                        5.3. Gotta See Them In Battle! [5300]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Avaible: Chapter 3: Mine Cars Are GO!
Where: Fossil Stadium, Northwestern room
Requirements: Spinax, Venator and Megalo

Put Spinax, Venator and Megalo in your team and talk to Petey. He will ask you
to battle him.

*************************** Strategy: Don't think you can bring your Vivosaurs
* Petey * in Rank 1. If you do you are totally wrong because
*************************** all of his Vivosaurs are rank 4!!! A good strategy
* Shanshan - Air Rank 4 * would be putting Venator in the AZ, and switch if
* Metria - Air Rank 4 * needed. This battle is hard of you havent got 3
* Alectro - Water Rank 4 * fossil parts, but I managed to do it with Rank 3
*************************** Vivosaurs.

After the battle, Petey will reward you with a Red Metria (Body).

Rewards: Red Metria (Body)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5.4. Blambeau Has Escaped... Again [5400]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Contributed by The Lemonator and Crusty Lemon.

Avaible: CH7: The Revival
Where: Police Station, Officer in the middle
Requirements: Have beaten Saurhead.

The police have let Blambeau escape... for the third time. Go to the police
station and talk to the middle police officer. He will tell you that Blambeau
has escaped and is wearing his same clothes. He then asks you to capture him.
Blambeau is at Mt. Lavaflow. You must have beaten Saurhead before doing this
Sidequest. Go to the door/entrance to Mt. Lavaflow NE. When you enter
Mt. Lavaflow NE, go forward until you see a right turn. Take the right turn
and you will end up right next to Blambeau. Save before going up to him. He
wants revenge so he has strong vivosaurs.

*************************** Strategy: By this point in the game, you should
* Blambeau's Third Battle * have a strong wind-type vivosaur. So, I suggest
*************************** using a high-ranked Spinax to beat Onyx. If you
* Onyx - Water Rank 7 * have Elasmo, use him, because he can hit equally
* Ourano - Earth Rank 6 * both in AZ and SZ. Also, I suggest you use a
* Lambeo - Fire Rank 6 * S-Raptor to beat Ourano because his moves use low
*************************** FP and are strong. Start with Spinax in AZ, Elasmo
                            in SZ1, and S-Raptor in SZ2. Get Spinax to hammer
                            on Onyx. He might swithch to Ourano, so, if he
does, switch to S-Raptor. If he does that, you have 2 free turns to attack
him. Finish off with Elasmo. If he switches with Lambeo, vice-versa. Hammer on
him until all Vivosaurs are defeated.

You will beat Blambeau and the Police Officers will come and take him away.
Now go to the police station to pick up your reward. There is not a cash
reward but you get a Officer Mask (which looks kinda creepy). You are now a
honorary officer.

Rewards: Officer Mask
