How do you get a partner for a tag duel? I can't figure out

Most duelists can be unlocked if you win them 3 times. You can make sure by checking it at the menu. Now to select them as partners in 5d's story mode you must go to bootleg and talk to the guy next to the owner(provided that you have cleared the main story)
Beat them in a duel and get mini game right but it might take more then 1 duel with them though
WRONG you need to meet certain conditions in order to get them to be your partner like Jack you need to beat him and yuesi in a regular tag duel to get him (3x)
