When I was in a wifi duel the duel just started and it said I lost. Did the person cheat or something I just wanted a fair duel.

I guess they did because there is an AR code Instant Win. But I never knew you could use it on multiplayer, I never knew someone would even stoop that low.
It has happened to me many times. What is happening is that you are loosing you connection during the battle and so it is like you are forfeiting.
